@lobspeaker I don’t think there’s a scenario where Larkin agrees to go to the Leafs. I have to believe he’s looking for a team with an identity that is legitimately in “win now” mode, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to be requesting a trade.

@RedWingDiehards In Larks’ defense, he developed in this league under Blashill and Lalonde. 2 coaches who seemed lost behind the bench, and 2 coaches with zero fire.

I doubt anything happens before 7/1, and for all we know day 1 of free agency may change the narrative. For now, it’s just noise.

@tfmadden17 @NatSparbeck @jmarshalllover I love Larks, but I’ve said for years that he is a guy you want on your team, not a guy you want to build your team around. If you’ve been in the league for 10 seasons, a captain for 5+, and there’s a culture problem in your locker room… you’re not the solution…

@RedWingDiehards If only individual accolades equated to team success… I’m not saying that he’s a bad player, he’s just not a leader. He will have success wherever he ends up, but he’s going to end up in a locker room that already has an established leader, where he doesn’t need to be “the guy”

@McCartyDangles Robertson will be UFA. It would have to be a sign and trade, but why do that when you could just sign Robertson and use Larks to bring in someone else?

@jmarshalllover @NatSparbeck I would argue that a captain should be elevating his team to the playoffs, not falling short year after year. They absolutely had the talent this year, but still folded down the stretch. Not a single even strength point in March. Not what you need from a veteran/leader on the ice
