Still avoiding to look at her gaze, the moment her metallic hand caressed his cheek he looked back at her. Yes, her body was artificial and cold, but to him it had a special warmth.
"Please promise me you won't judge me and what I have to say won't affect our relationship..."
"Are you sure that's all it is?"
She held her hand to his cheek now. It looked cold, metallic... but it was warm, affectionate.
"You can tell me anything, Mizuki... No matter what it is."
At that moment Mizuki felt as if she had caught his deepest secret, now trying to avoid eye contact
"No, I just..."
He truly have feelings for her, he didn't cared if she was a bot, his feelings for her would never change.
"I just want to be with you mother... only you and me"
"That sounds a little... Romantic, Obake-kun? Is there something you're not telling me?"
She looked to him curiously, wondering what he was thinking. Surely he couldn't, and wouldn't, waste romantic feelings on a useless bot...
He would never had thought this moment would come, to not only be reunited with his mother but to feel this calm. But as if things couldn't get any better hearing those words coming from her made Mizuki's heart skip a beat.
"I want to be with you forever."
She felt peace with him, too... It was different now though. After not having him around, to be reunited with him... she felt at ease. Like he was all that mattered.
"My Mizuki... I... I love you, too."
She'd never said those words so heartfelt before.
Looking back at her gaze he felt for thr first time in so long peace, a peace he's been looking, a peace he always wantes to share with her.
"Mother I... I'm sorry for leaving you, I promise I will never leave, I love you"
He finally found the courage enough to say those words.
She held him for a time, but eventually she pulled back. She looked up to him with a genuine smile. Not the sinister grin she have many times. A warm, heartfelt smile.
"You are worth so much more, Mizuki..."
"But you are-"
He then felt a strange pressure on his heart, a pain like no other he ever felt and it was just because the idea of loosing her. But just when he was about to get extremely anxious because of the idea of loosing her, that hug came. Arms wrapping around her as well
"No! Don't say that... I'm... Not worth you dying for..."
She got serious, opening her eyes again. She held his cheek for a moment, looking to him lovingly. For all she'd done... misguided or not... she always loved him.
She pulled him in, hugging him tightly.
"I didn't wanted you to know until everything was ok but I see I was wrong."
A soft caress to his mother's cheek using his mechanical one to guide her other hand to his own cheek.
"Mother, you are the only one I care about, without you I would rather die."
"You... really did it all for me? Why didn't you tell me, Mizuki?"
She took his hand, holding it to her cheek. She closed her eyes and leaned her cheek against his hand.
"I was so angry... so... scared..."
Finally, she could admit it.
"That's not what I meant! I thought if befriending them I could make us, live in peace, you and me!"
Just by seeing he knew how wrong he was, and so he tried to get closer, taking one of her hands with his own good hand.
"Mother all I've done is for you, only you."
"M-Make everyone happy except for me?! Leave the bot behind to go play hero with the humans, is that it?!"
Her voice trembled, teeth grit, almost crying. She was shaking as she projected those emotions. She wasn't mad at him. But admitting it was harder than being mad at him.
"I just... I was just trying to make everyone happy... and she's not my girlfriend! You know you are the most important person to me...."
He felt bad for running away but he was scared, afraid of his feelings, of the feelings he had for his own mother...
"No?! You didn't abandon me for those freaks at Overwatch? And your little fox girlfriend? I needed you, Obake-kun..."
She hid her feelings behind that anger. He made her feel as close to a human as she could be, which was all she wanted.
@kanezakanohime - "More? This would be adequate enough but... I could never turn you down."
Shion offered a smile too. A genuine, caring smile. Not a sinister grin. It looked nice across her pretty, artificial face plate.
"I know you enjoy them. It seems rare to see you without one of these."
Shion holds up a donut.
"They are very cute... thank you."
Shion smiled. She'd seen Kiriko nom down a single donut in one bit so... assuming that's how it was done, Shion would do the same.
The donuts consisted of Shion’s color scheme—a variation of both shapes and colors. Including a few with Kiriko’s colors just for added charms.
The cookies were both colorful and shaped. A few with Shion’s pretty face. The other set with foxes and tigers.
“I dunno. Didn’t—
@kanezakanohime This whole experience was... so new for Shion. She was used to being treated like some murder hungry... violence crazed... useless bot.
And here Kiriko was, treating her like any other human. Which is all she's really ever wanted.
Plus, the Yokai's excitement was oh so cute. -
