Former UConn walk on and Granby alum Mike Noyes is an assistant coach with the Spurs.
At just 31 years old the 2013 Connecticut state champ is quickly climbing the coaching ranks. @ciacsports@UConnMBB
Our guy @AmarriMonroe has been at some NBA pre-draft workouts recently 👀

Aaron Nkrumah’s a really good story out of Worcester right now.
Played at South HS in Worcester, before doing a postgrad year at Marianapolis. Spent a semester at Nichols, then transferred to Worcester State.
At Worcester State, Nkrumah was the 2023-2024 MASCAC Player of the Year, averaging 16.9 points per game.
From there, he transferred to Tennessee State.
In two years at TSU, Nkrumah has excelled.
Year 1: 10.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game.
In Year 2, he improved his numbers immensely.
17.7 points per game on 43.8% from the field (+4.1% from first year), 35.1% from three (+7.6% from first year), led the Tigers to an NCAA Tournament berth, and named the Player of the Year in the Ohio Valley Conference.
This past weekend, he really stood out at the G League Combine with his two-way skills, and impressive combine results, 6’5” w/o shoes & a 6’10+” wingspan.
Following that, he was invited to participate in this week’s NBA combine in Chicago which begins today.
Perseverance, showing out at the D3 level in his home city, excelling in the OVC, and now making noise as a potential NBA draft pick next month.

Before reading Hurley's book, I had no idea about Kimani's personal family tragedy. His rise as the best associate head coach in the country is even more impressive now. Let's get it done coach!

I’ll keep saying it! Players will respond to whatever you set the mark at for them. If you let them be soft they will, if you hold them accountable they will respond!
Reality of college recruiting:
D1: ~2%
D2: ~2%
NAIA: ~3%
D3: ~3%
Juco: ~7%
It is a privilege to get the opportunity to play college sports at ANY level.
Take your recruitment seriously.
Game on.
In the D3 MBB and WBB NCAA tourneys, the kids want it just as much...they work just as hard to get to this point...they compete just as hard.
Winning games today will be as great as in the D1 tourney...and losing will be just as devastating.
It is high-level basketball.

Toughest part of tournament basketball is in the finality. One tough night on either side of the ball and your season can come to an end. So the people who say this is a fun time of year, have never been through the grind of a season, only to have have 1 game determine success

Let’s have a talk about D2 schools using search firms to hire coaches and at the same time paying assistant coaches a barely livable wage. What are we doing here!?
