@Liv_Stargrace Amazing! @TheGivingBlock we would love if you added support for Asteroid Shiba (0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126) as a donation option.
Our community will gladly contribute to the cause. We already donated $650,000 to @StJude 👇

Just finished a 2 minute tribute video for a truly special girl: Olivia Perrotto.
Her story touched me from the very beginning, and I couldn’t help but immortalize it in something she and her mother @rebeccaperrotto would love; and with everything happening with NASA’s Moon Base plans today, it feels even more meaningful to celebrate stories that keep dreaming about humanity’s future in space.
The video is in anime style. As a longtime fan of both Hayao Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai (two very different but equally brilliant directors) I wanted to create something that truly felt worthy of the "Your Name" anime style.
I used @SuperGrok to bring it to life, and honestly… I was genuinely moved by the result. It didn’t disappoint me at all.
Enjoy watching!

Elon: Anyone who wants to go to the moon or Mars or elsewhere will be able to go.
Go to Mars at first will be difficult and dangerous, so not an luxury expedition, but a difficult one.
Much as the creation of America was.
Memecoins Can Change the World Too! The Heartwarming Charity Story of SpaceX’s Mascot, Asteroid.
In 2024, the Asteroid community donated 2.1 billion $ASTEROID tokens to @StJude Children’s Research Hospital. They eventually sold them for $670,000.
To protect the community and avoid any negative impact, the hospital carefully sold the token in 12 batches, converting them into 290 ETH. These funds will be used to support children undergoing cancer treatment.
Back in September 2021, during the first all-civilian space mission @inspiration4x, @rookisaacman set a goal of raising $200 million for St. Jude. @elonmusk replied by pledging $50 million, helping the mission exceed its target.
Three years later, in September 2024, the @PolarisProgram conducted the second all-civilian space mission, again led by Jared Isaacman.
This mission also featured the first commercial spacewalk and broke the record for the farthest distance humans have traveled from Earth since the 1972 Apollo program. Asteroid, the SpaceX’s mascot, was onboard the spacecraft.
Asteroid is the zero-gravity indicator designed by Liv, the daughter of @rebeccaperrotto. At the time, Liv was battling cancer and dreamed of becoming the first child in space.
She especially wanted to inspire the children at St. Jude, hoping that every child who saw Asteroid in space would feel brave enough to chase their dreams.
@SpaceX and the Polaris Program also sell official Asteroid plush toys on their website.
At Liv’s request, all proceeds from the sales of these plush toys are donated to St. Jude to help children with cancer who are going through the same struggle she did.
This is why the $ASTEROID community decided to donate to St. Jude. From 2021 until today, many people have been helping St. Jude, and Asteroid has connected it all. This is a touching charity story.
We were inspired by @VitalikButerin , who once said, “I truly prefer if you guys send to charity directly. I think the best thing for memecoins is if they can be maximally positive-sum for the world.”
So we called on the community to donate 2.1 billion $ASTEROID tokens and reached out to @sometimesMarc at St. Jude, who leads Web3 donations.
After Asteroid became the official SpaceX’s mascot, the token’s value rose rapidly. This allowed the donated tokens to reach a peak value of nearly $1 million.
This is also the first time a memecoin has truly made a positive impact in the real world. We have fulfilled Vitalik’s vision. We hope everyone will continue to carry on this charitable initiative.
Thank you to everyone who read this story. Kids should live in a world where cancer does not exist 🙏 We will forever love Liv and Asteroid, this adorable SpaceX’s mascot!
ASTEROID Community ❤️
During Consensus, I was asked several times about the story of ethereum:0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126 as far as we were aware. Many people were pleasantly surprised by how we managed to exit our position without damaging the community. This is the summary.
When we set up the process for accepting crypto donations at @stjude, we set the criteria that we would convert the assets donated as soon as reasonably possible. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is focused on leading the way that the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. While we (the crypto industry) may wish the world would leap forward and be more on-chain, that isn't how it currently exists and we need dollar denoted currencies to run the hospital.
Nearly 2 years ago, .5% of ASTEROID was sent to the St. Jude ETH wallet. We didn't have a way to readily convert it into US Dollars, so we left it in the wallet.
Due to external factors, the token went from a market cap of ~$20k to over $150M. Our position fluctuated between $500k and $1M in valuation. I had several messages asking if what we were going to do, and I responded to a few that we were figuring it out.
The next 48 hours were a whirlwind of approvals, but I knew two things. We would need to go to a DEX (a first for our mission) and that we would need to avoid hurting the community. Leadership understood and gave approval for the approach and we proceeded.
Some people may disagree with how we did it, but I believe it to be the best option out of the ones that we had. Over 2 days, we proceeded to exit the position in 12 varying sized tranches. During the entire process, we kept an eye on liquidity of the token and did our best to ensure it never dropped below $3.5M and that the Net Buy pressure didn't exceed $75k.
We exited the position with over 290 ETH valued at ~$676k. Thank you to the ethereum:0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126 community that came together on this asset. These monies will go a long way in support of the life saving mission of St. Jude.

In 2024, we donated 2.1 billion $ASTEROID tokens to @StJude. Two years later, these tokens reached a peak value of $1 million USD.
The main reason for the donation was that Liv herself hoped the revenue from Asteroid dolls could help children with cancer. Inspired by @VitalikButerin, the community also decided to donate the tokens directly to St. Jude.
Vitalik once said, “I truly prefer if you guys send to charity directly. I think the best thing for memecoins is if they can be maximally positive-sum for the world.” ASTEROID is doing exactly that right now.
At the time, we contacted @sometimesMarc, St. Jude’s crypto donation lead. They were already aware that the community had been donating to them. They responded enthusiastically, followed us, and kept up with our updates.
Today, we noticed that the St. Jude wallet has started converting the tokens into ETH. We’re truly grateful that they are putting this donation to good use.
I believe they will soon issue a thank-you statement. This marks the first time a memecoin has genuinely delivered real-world charity impact.
The St. Jude address still holds around 300 million tokens and has already realized nearly $600,000 USD in donations. We sincerely thank @StJude and @Asteroidcto for making this meaningful act of kindness happen together.
We hope @rebeccaperrotto (Liv’s mom) can feel happy about this. It’s a wonderful success.
Thank you to everyone who followed this story and helped make it happen. Kids should live in a world where cancer does not exist 🙏
