Half of our London dry gin has spent 10 years in virgin oak & another 10 years in ex whisky casks. The other half is new but the same London dry that was put into the casks. 50% old, 50% new, 50% vol, 50cl bottle. Can you see a theme here?😄#gin#londondrygin#oakaged#oakagedgin
@GinMonkeyUK@GinFoundry We're a well established whisky bottler and wouldn't do anything to harm our reputation or that of the drinks we bottle! I wish we could honestly say it was foresight but 20 years ago, even 10 years ago there wasn't really anything like the same the market for gin there is now.
@GinFoundry@GinMonkeyUK I think the article in the Herald was a bit clearer. The national also referred to us as a distiller when we are an independent bottler but you can't control how others use what you give them. It was all produced by a well known distillery in Birmingham.
@GinMonkeyUK@GinFoundry Hi! Its a London Dry gin that was aged in virgin oak for 10 years then finished in ex whisky casks for another 10. We then mixed 2 of those casks with the same amount of "new" gin to make the juniper more prominent again. Any questions please ask!!
I've been enjoying listening to this podcast about Gin and learning many new things from the history to which to try next. https://t.co/mafOWzIzjf Next one is the last of the season so you've got some catching up to do :)
