Did you know that the Gordon family is associated with more castles and great houses in Scotland than almost any other family? Here's the stunning Fyvie Castle, just a few miles from our old chiefly seat at Huntly. Which of our other ancient castles have you visited?
The world may remember him for making @GlenfiddichSMW the most famous whisky in the world - we'll remember his stalwart support for Scottish culture and our clan society. Here's tae ye, Sandy.
If you're partaking of a wee tipple tonight, we hope you'll pour one out in memory of Sandy Grant Gordon who passed on this week. https://t.co/XbhHE4xYeB
Is it just us, or do you feel cold? ❄️😨

We are sad to hear of the passing of John Gordon of Abergeldie. When severe flooding almost toppled Abergeldie Castle into the River Dee, he stepped up, refusing to let it be the end - and kept the old tower standing as it had for centuries.

Congratulations also to James Gordon, from Aberdeenshire on being awarded an MBE!
He worked for decades supporting his local community of Alford. When cuts ripped the railway out of the town, he got supporters together and they simply created their own one!
Congratulations to Adam Gordon from Derbyshire on being made an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours this morning! Adam played a major role in keeping the UK's mobile networks running as demand surged dramatically during the coronavirus pandemic. Well done Adam!

The splendid heraldic ‘frontispiece’ over the main entrance to Huntly Castle was added in around 1602 by the 6th Earl of Huntly to celebrate his becoming 1st Marquis of Huntly.
You can pre-book to see this amazing architecture in person from 19 August: https://t.co/JKXdGRLN6R
@welovehistory@socolady2@SamHeughan Appropriately Kenmure has strong Jacobite links itself. William Gordon, the 6th Viscount Kenmure, was beheaded on Tower Hill in London due to his support for the Old Pretender in the 1715 rebellion.
Another of our ancient castles is for sale - Castle of Park. Sir William Gordon of Park fought alongside Bonnie Prince Charlie at Culloden. The castle was sacked by the Duke of Cumberland's forces, but Sir William evaded capture and escaped to France! https://t.co/ZRloro9JST
