Yesterday, Denver City Council voted 5 to 8 to NOT fund shelter for houseless families. This vote is leaving HUNDREDS of little children and babies on our streets, in cars, and the like.

Correction to Unsheltered Point in Time Count.
Unsheltered count of 2025 is mis-categorized 566 people who were staying in the emergency cold weather shelter as sheltered when they would otherwise be unsheltered.
This almost doubles the unsheltered count and shows increase.
On Saturday we marched 16th St to make our voices heard - “Housing not Handcuffs! People Over Profit!” As the Mayor and the Downtown Denver Business Partnership celebrated spending $175 Million on Looks and State Crooks, we called out the injustice.
On October 4th there will be a grand re-opening event, called “The Denver Way”, for 16th Street after spending $175million for a revamp.

HAND received police records from 3 years of enforcement of laws targeting houseless people that reveal a sustained increase in enforcement under Mayor Johnston.
In case you did not hear... The City is not going to contract with The Salvation Army to run three hotel shelters!! This happened because of community voice speaking up. Thanks to all living in these shelters under TSA who spoke up...!
