@john_wawrow Benson has 2 seconds left on his penalty and the box operator is looking at the clock not Holmberg falling face first into the boards. As soon as he hits the penalty ends and Benson jumps out. Not sure what the person is supposed to do in that situation

Here’s my question on this play:

We have all these rules for what constitutes a catch: Must make a football move, must survive the ground, must take a third step, etc.

In this instance, if the Denver defender didn’t come up with the ball and it ended up the ground instead, it would have pretty clearly been ruled incomplete, not a fumble.

Right?
