That's a wrap on the 2025 NDT
Both teams end 4-4, narrowly missing a spot in the elim rounds but still putting up some great results representing the Cougars up in Washington!
It's a challenge for any team to qualify, let alone go even, and we couldn't be more proud.
The National Debate Tournament (NDT) is finally here!
The UH Policy Debate team will be competing in the NDT at Gonzaga University against the best teams in the nation! We are sending two teams:
Khan - Yadagiri (KY)
Doratt - Fernandez (DF)
Good luck to them, and GO COOGS!
Day TWO is done and, along with a Final Four win from Cougar Basketball, we've had some wins of our own!
KY: 3-3
DF: 4-2
There are still TWO rounds left of prelims until elims, Good luck!
After many days of debate, CEDA is complete.
DF, the 10th seed, and AS, the 19th seed, both had BYEs in Triples before dropping in doubles.
Additionally, Aaron Fernandez was the 19th speaker (out of 172!) and UH coach Eric Lanning was the South-Central Critic of the Year!
The UH Policy Debate team is competing this weekend at the Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA) National Tournament.
We have three teams, DF, AS, and EK who are excited to debate! Notably, EK is a novice team competing in the open division! Good luck Coogs!
After day 2, we have two teams advancing to elims with a BYE through the first round!
DF: 6-2
AS: 5-3
EK: 2-6
Both DF and AS will have their Doubles round tomorrow for a chance to advance to day four! We couldn't be more proud of our performance so far. Good luck Coogs!

EL: 3-3, losing in Octas
CK: 2-4
AB: 4-2 with a BYE in Octas and a Quarters round tomorrow!
The University of Houston is hosting the ADA Nationals tournament this weekend! We have 87 teams competing from universities across the nation including 5 teams from UH!

DF: 6-2 (Third overall)
AS: 5-3 (Tenth overall)
We also took home the 4th, 5th 8th, 9th, and 15th place speaker awards! Go Coogs!
This weekend the Cougars are competing at the annual D3 District Tournament! This is a competition against some of the best teams in our region for a spot at the National Debate Tournament.
We have three teams, AS, KY, and DF all vying for a spot. Good luck, and Go Coogs!

We finished with two teams, KY and DF earning a spot at the National Debate Tournament! Only two teams per school can qualify through districts, but here's hoping AS can get a Second Round Bid to the NDT!
This weekend the Cougars are at the University of Texas at Austin for the annual Texas Open! With over 100 entries from 46 colleges and universities we are excited for an exhilarating weekend of debate!
