Properly understood, the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause doesn’t banish religion from the public square, require us to embrace the agnostic faux-religion of secularism, or establish a “wall of separation” between religious people and government
It prohibits Congress from establishing a national church
That’s it
🚨 BREAKING: The Tennessee House has officially PASSED the new Congressional maps, which will ELIMINATE the state’s only Democrat district
And as expected, the Democrats in the chamber started SCREAMING and MELTING DOWN 🤣🔥
They’re like CHILDREN 😂🤡
KEEP THIS UP, GOP!
All this pearl clutching from TN Dems about splitting Shelby Co in newly redistricted maps... "It's never been done." Yet the last time @tndp themselves were in control in 2010 they themselves split Shelby county lol. You literally cannot make it up. False outrage is so hilarious.
The Supreme Court has opined that redistricting, like the judicial system, should be color-blind. The decision indicated states can redistrict based off partisan politics. Today, Tennessee joins other red and blue states in redrawing their congressional maps. @ltgovmcnally
Under the Electoral College, the President is elected by the states and it is the states who choose to run popular elections to select electors. This is actually an integral part of the longevity of the union, because the great compromise ensures that small states are not subsumed by a national policy driven be the population advantage of large states. Remove this framework and why would a state like Wyoming stick around and be dictated to by a government that only represents the coastal enclaves?
I fully support @GovBillLee’s announcement this afternoon calling for a special session to address redistricting. Tennesseans deserve a map that ensures their voices are represented both at home and in Washington, D.C. I appreciate the Tennessee General Assembly taking up this important issue to ensure Tennessee’s districts are fair and lawful.
After consulting with @ltgovmcnally, @CSexton25, @AGTennessee & @tnsecofstate, I believe the General Assembly has a responsibility to review the map & ensure it remains fair, legal & defensible.

I was proud to be anti-Vivek when it was unpopular.
And I’m proud to be anti-Vivek today.
He represents everything that is wrong with the GOP and I would be caught dead before I found myself aligning with this 👇
Once again, a majority of the U.S. Supreme Court—including three Justices nominated by @POTUS—has reaffirmed the basic principle that the way to stop discriminating on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race. In today’s case, the Court made sure states don’t gerrymander congressional districts to benefit one race over another. Equal treatment under the law shouldn’t be a mere aspiration, but a reality. Tennessee and other states are now empowered to make certain that their congressional maps ensure equality across the board, and I support them doing so.
