Everton up for sale, who in the right mind would invest in a Premier League club at the minute?
Could have all the money in the world but it may as well be monopoly money as you can't spend it unless your part of a cartel.
Richard Masters has killed the premier league.
Arsenal employed a rapist for years, their manager openly backed him, fans didn't budge. Where was the outrage?
Chelsea admitted to breaching 74 charges, including illegal payments to players, agents, third parties. Where was the outrage?
United have accumulated over 1bn debt, continue to borrow more and more. Where was the outrage?
Liverpool admitted to hacking into a team's scouting system and continued having a front-of-shirt sponsor accused of terrorist financing. Where was the outrage?
City's owners put their own money in their business? Outrage.
I have tried to explain the following several times over the last year and I'm going to try again as some are persisting with the idea there is no CAS equivalent in this process and they are wrong.
Rule X.37 does indeed prevent a club from running to the High Court just because they don't like how a panel interpreted a specific football rule. Clear.
But as City’s massive victory over the old APT rules proved, the Premier League cannot write handbook rules that override UK statutory law. If their rules constitute a legal definition of a "restrictive practice," the private tribunal must strike them down and if the tribunal fails to do so, the High Court remains the ultimate backstop.
It's the difference between an appeal against a ruling (which Rule X.37 blocks) and a challenge to the underlying legality of the rules themselves.
When Manchester City took on the Premier League over the Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules, they were not using Section X to "appeal" a punishment.
Instead, they launched an offensive lawsuit using Section X as the required venue to test the legality of the regulations under UK Competition Law.
This distinction reveals why Rule X.37's "No Outside Appeal" clause doesn't mean the Premier League is immune to the High Court.
Why is this important?
The PL know that City won't hesitate to test if any sanctions breach UK Competition Law. This is why Khaldoon's speech was perfect. It put them on notice, we ain't going to roll over and have our tummies tickled.
City took them that far before and the league were humbled because they knew they'd lose in a real court. A real court scrutinising them is the last thing they want.
The sanest option for the PL is impose sanctions that do not cross the threshold where they can be challenged against UK Competition Law.
This should have a moderating effect on their sanctions discussions. I say should but Masters 'masters' may not allow it, he's their bitch, the decisions aren't his and they and their propagandists in the media are frothing at the mouth.
I'm not a lawyer and am happy to be challenged on any of this. But given some of the absolute bollocks I've seen being talked about I had to try to make these points again, this is better than that and I hope some of you are better armed for the fight with this knowledge.
Have we all calmed down a little?
Can I offer City fans a little bit of advice?
Don't engage with other fans about the #115 They are not interested in facts, logic, verdicts or anything else.
They have already made their minds up and there is nothing you can say to change that.
When you read a lot of the posts on here and in some of the press it is clearly based on a dislike of the owners and that might even be die to their ethnicity
But a lot of the hate is fuelled by a mix of jealousy and grief.
They are jealous that Sheikh Mansour is so clearly willing to spend his own money and not lump debt on the club. He's the best kind of owner in that regard.
And grief, the fans of the traditional big six are grieving the loss of their control, their bent success and all that they used to rely on.
So there is non point in any of us even pointing out that no official verdict has been laid down as one anonymous and seemingly inaccurate leak has spread like wildfire and then we are in to the world of confirmation bias.
Save your breath, don't get RSI from typing.
This is seriously embarrassing for the @premierleague, and it’s brand.
Handing a plastic title to Arsenal was clearly the “strategic plan”, but @FA_PGMOL have just made it too obvious and tainted the league forever.
Everyone knows now. Everyone.
Pep Guardiola responding to @JamieJackson___ probing him about a ‘fallout’ with Mikel Arteta and Arsenal using ‘dark arts’:
“If you want to ask a question to try to create some conflict between me and Mikel or Arsenal, I am old enough not to do that.
You are how many times here, did I ever use the words ‘dark arts’ about Arsenal? Did you listen to me?
You think [they use dark arts?] Go to London and attend Mikel Arteta’s press conference and ask him about that…”
Dear @ManCity
My name is Nneoma, a proud Chelsea fan, writing on behalf of Chelsea supporters, the blue cartel, and all reasonable football lovers worldwide.
I’m here to beg you and also warn you that under no circumstances must you drop a single point from now until the end of the season.
Chelsea travel to the Emirates this Sunday to face Arsenal, and I want to assure you that they will not be taking all three points from that game.
Should it come to it, we would gladly sacrifice three points at Stamford Bridge for you and risk the top four rather than witness Arsenal lifting the league title.
Watching Arsenal fans cry is sweeter than Chelsea making the top four.
Do not drop a single point until May. Not one. Not even by mistake. Don’t try it.
This is bigger than rivalry. This is about public sanity.
You are the only ones who can save football from the unbearable noise pollution that would erupt from North London should the unthinkable happen.
You are the last line of defense between football peace and unbearable North London noise pollution.
The ball is in your half.
Yours sincerely,
A concerned and slightly dramatic Chelsea fan, in anti-noise solidarity.
Thank you 💙
