@LeesiBB The movie is screaming at us that catharsis is simply placating us , and it’s by design. It’s not blaming us for the crisis it’s telling us the movie isn’t enough, tacky charicatures and joking about bad people isn’t enough. Americans can’t identify the point, or refuse to.
@eeveeith1nk The movie is screaming at us that catharsis is simply placating us , and it’s by design. What audiences aren’t clicking is It’s not blaming us for the crisis - it’s telling us the movie isn’t enough, tacky charicatures and joking about bad people isn’t enough
@AuriBlooms His spiel about consumers role is to paint how the hierarchy weaponises collective guilt to absolve themselves of systemic accountability. A lie that we are to blame when - he says it himself, it could be resolved if he would simply spend more in solutions.
@mspyaps It tells its audience art merely placates rather than changes the world atm + that’s a bitter pill to swallow for pretentious people who think their work as reviewers of art has value. Also massive corporates who pay reviewers have an agenda to discredit a movie like this.
@GraceRandolph I think we’ve always had a problem with cruise (those progressive enough to like digger anyway) the people who like top gun aren’t politically invested in him , his beliefs or a movie like digger. I as someone who finds him indefensible - really adore digger.
