Looks like another tax CCR is headed to Senate then House tonight. Taking time and showing respect to the other chamber might make this one pass. Don’t screw this one up w/hot mic. #ksleg
@melforkansas Leah is spending $6000/yr for housing there too. Not really complaining here but it’s certainly disingenuous to pretend the money for food or housing is salary.
$43,000 base salary? $30,000 salary? Where do these people get these numbers? Here’s a full year salary W-2 for a state representative. Looks like $14,362. The #ksleg
@LoveNIntegrity After benefits and taxes, many legislators have to pay the state (negative paychecks). After taxes and KPERS payments, Leah’s take home pay for all of 2023 was $4,917.80.
@LoveNIntegrity Yes, that’s a solid reason. Unless wealthy or retired, or few other special exceptions, most cannot serve, b/c they cannot afford it. The session pay has been stagnant at $88.66 per day for decades. That does not make sense. Most jobs don’t tolerate the schedule either.
Your KSRA is represented in the Kansas House gallery today as the House prepares to debate the #EddieEagle firearm safety bill. #ksleg#2A#NRA#KansasRifle
Honoring Women in Aviation. Women built 1,644 B29’s built in Wichita, that’s 4.5/day that helped win WWII. People like Wichita’s own Connie Palacioz AKA Rosie the Riveter. Amelia Earhart is another pioneer mentioned today. https://t.co/1NDCWkdsGp
