Tree One, designed by @ecoLogicStudio in South Korea, is a huge self-supporting tree structure made with microalgae-based biopolymer. 20 large-scale 3D-printing machines and 4 industrial robots and algorithms were used for building the 3D-printed 10-meter-tall structure capable of photosynthesis. The biopolymer material was created by combining the biomass with different naturally derived biodegradable ingredients: chitin, agar, vinegar, and glycerin.
