@sunnyright It’s genuinely JD’s biggest weakness. He’s too isolationist for his own good. And while I understand the Hillbilly Elegy perspective that rural Americans were thrown to die in foreign wars, making their deaths meaningless by witless diplomacy isnt the way to act.
BREAKING: The US has released the full text of its 14-point "Memorandum of Understanding" with Iran.
Key terms include:
1. The US, Iran, and their allies agree to immediately and permanently end military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon
2. The US and Iran agree to respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity and not interfere in each other's internal affairs
3. The US and Iran commit to negotiating and reaching a final deal within 60 days, unless mutually extended
4. The US will begin removing its naval blockade immediately and fully end the blockade within 30 days
5. Iran will use its best efforts to ensure safe passage for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days with no charge
6. The US and regional partners will develop a mutually agreed plan of at least $300 billion for Iran's reconstruction and economic development
7. The US will work toward terminating all types of sanctions against Iran, including UN, IAEA, primary, and secondary sanctions
8. Iran reaffirms that it will not procure or develop nuclear weapons and agrees to address its enriched material stockpile under IAEA supervision
9. Until a final deal is reached, Iran will maintain the current status quo of its nuclear program, while the US will impose no new sanctions and deploy no additional forces
10. The US Treasury will issue waivers for Iranian crude oil, petroleum products, derivatives, and associated banking, insurance, and transportation services
11. The US will make frozen or restricted Iranian funds and assets fully available for use
12. The US and Iran will establish an executive mechanism to monitor implementation of the MOU and future compliance with the final deal
13. After signing the MOU and implementing key ceasefire, blockade, shipping, oil waiver, and asset-release provisions, the US and Iran will begin final deal negotiations
14. The final deal will be endorsed by a binding UN Security Council resolution
The memorandum will trigger a 60-day window to negotiate a final deal.
@TruueDiscipline Honestly the college essay should be “write about something you’re passionate about.” It can be literally anything, and should be accompanied by an interview.
Right now the system is just gamed by rich kids who buy tutors/programs to maximize their essay chances.
You gotta realize that if you embrace all the awesome stuff about America, we will not just embrace you back, we will *adopt you as one of us*. I'd give this guy a green card tomorrow, no questions asked. He's American as apple pie, hell yeah brother.
I like Japan as much as the next guy but this is historical revisionism. Japan was a burgeoning expansionist empire that attacked its neighbors.
U.S. oil sanctions were enacted in response and so Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, but that in no way means Japan wasn’t the aggressor.
Stuff like this makes it very difficult for people to trust elections.
California has a serious problem.
Raman was in a distant third and now she’s leading every new drop to completely change the outcome. And there could obviously be legitimate explanations (esp since CA allows ballot harvesting, which is a problem in itself).. but no way anyone can look at them taking weeks to count ballot and outcome completely changing in one direction each time without having serious concerns.

@DavidPollackUSA They know she’s advancing because it’s unlikely that both Pratt and Raman will get the votes needed to kick her to third.
It’s just a projection, but backed with statistical data on the remaining districts to be counted. Bass *could* still lose but it’s near impossible.
I’m sorry and I truly hate to be a buzzkill here, but I’d advise everyone to not get their hopes up about Pratt winning in November. These numbers might SEEM really good for him, but that’s until you realize he likely needs a majority of Raman voters to break for him in order to win. And considering she ran to the left of Bass, I just don’t see any reality where that happens. I think Pratt has run a fantastic campaign and hope to see him have a future in politics, but it’s LA we’re talking about here. Pratt may well give Bass a reasonably close race like Rick Caruso did in 2022, but that’s probably the most we can hope for sadly.
Judges are rightfully outraged by counsel citing fictitious cases. We are officers of the court. We don’t cite non-existent cases; we twist real ones into non-existent meanings.
