We are the Clwyd group of the Hardy Plant Society. We share a love of gardens & of hardy perennials. We meet to swap news, info & to listen to guest speakers.
@HardyPlantSoc Due to the current public health advice concerning coronavirus, it is with regret that the special evening event at the Springfield Hotel on 21st April has been cancelled. Chris Price-Morris, HPS Clwyd Group Chair.
@HardyPlantSoc Here is advance notice of the HPS Clwyd Group special evening 21st April 2020 at the Springfield Hotel. Visitor tickets on sale from February.
@HardyPlantSoc Lots of interest in the garden - winter honeysuckle, cornus stems, Daphne Bholua buds opening, birch tree bark, signs of snowdrops and hellebores.
Join us on 21 January, 7:30pm, for Jenny Hendy's talk on The Everlasting Garden. All welcome - members and visitors.
@HardyPlantSoc Last night we had a well attended meeting to hear an excellent talk by Jill Cawthray of Chicken Street nursery (near Oswestry). She presented ways of bringing the three B's - bird, bees and butterflies - in to the garden.
Lovely display of Autumn plants.
Jill Cawthray is a regular at our annual Plant Sales. Her Chicken Street plant stall is a very popular centrepiece, so we expect this talk to be a highlight of our year. All welcome, members and guests. See you on 15th October
@HardyPlantSoc
Our own Gardeners Question Time was a very sociable and informative way to start our new season of meetings. Thanks to the panel, and our GQT chairman, Mel Royles.
@HardyPlantSoc Last night we enjoyed a wonderful summer evening visit to Bryn Bellan garden https://t.co/ECMv3zfmHa
Thanks to Gabrielle Armstrong and Trevor Ruddle for being such welcoming and generous hosts
@HardyPlantSoc We had a great day out yesterday visiting Roualeyn Fushias and Conway Valley Maze Thanks to our hosts for such a fascinating day out in the lovely Conwy Valley
@HardyPlantSoc We're off and running at Holywell Community Hospital. The tulips, amelanchiers, euphorbia and bergenia are at their best. Delighted with the roof garden converted from an overgrown wilderness. Visitors:"When you've finished here, will you come and do my garden".
@HardyPlantSoc Ness gardens is a great visit, for its history, its horticulture and its views. So it is exciting to have Tim Baxter coming to give this talk at our April Meeting. Make a note in your diary - members, guests and visitors all very welcome. April 16th 7:30pm
@HardyPlantSoc Mike looks apprehensive in his last meeting as our secretary - Mike you did a great job! The Jam Ladies are very confident (justifiably) that we'll love their tasting walk through seeds, spices, fruits - caraway, cardamon, saffron, ginger, mace, lavender and jam!
@HardyPlantSoc Whether you are a plant lover or a foodie (or quite possibly both), this is a meeting to look forward to. All welcome - visitors and members. Make a date - Tuesday 19th March - see you there, culinary delights on offer!
