Road dust is a major and preventable source of urban air pollution. Yet, in Sector 50 and South City 2, civic works continue to generate avoidable dust exposure in complete disregard of established dust-control norms.

The Close Avenue Road and parts of Nirvana Central Road- roads that previously had only a few potholes-have been stripped of their entire bituminous top layer and left incomplete for nearly two months. Residents are forced to use these roads every day through huge clouds of dust. Further, bitumen has also been dumped recklessly on green belts nr Close South, service lanes nr Unitech business park , and the Nirvana community grounds facing Courtyard Market where children come to play. These are residential access routes, exposing families to prolonged dust pollution, unsafe road conditions, and daily inconvenience.

This is not an isolated incident. Throughout April, Nirvana residents had to endure exposed construction sand left in the middle of these same roads during the installation of median grills, creating avoidable dust pollution and hazardous driving conditions. The issue was serious enough for the CPCB to take cognisance of it in May. Yet, despite that intervention, effective dust-control measures continue to be ignored.

Sorry to say, we expected better for civic words under the orders of Ward Councillor @bhartiharsana9 ji and municipal corporation vendors. This neglect, poor planning, disregard for residents health, and lack of time-bound execution of civic works have resulted in prolonged disruption, road safety concerns, and entirely avoidable public health exposure.

Civic infrastructure projects must comply with municipal norms and the guidelines of the NGT, @CAQM_Official, and @CPCB_OFFICIAL, all of which repeatedly emphasize controlling road dust and combating air pollution.

Urban residents are not disengaged from civic issues- we live with these consequences every single day. Please hear a resident share these pollution-related concerns and the hardships being faced.

बीती रात सोसाइटी में कुछ शरारती तत्व अंदर रहने वाले एक किरायेदार से मिलने आए, सब ने फ्लैट में बैठ कर शराब पी और बाद में नीचे आकर हुड़दंग करने लगे, सिक्योरिटी स्टाफ के रोकने पर उनके साथ गाली गलौच व अभद्र भाषा का प्रयोग किया और गार्ड के साथ मार पिटाई की, पुलिस को लगातार 112 पर कॉल किया गया लेकिन नंबर व्यस्त रहा, गुरुग्राम में ऐसे असामाजिक तत्वों की हरकतें बड़ती जा रही है, जिसके कारण सभ्य समाज में भय बढ़ता जा रहा है।
