Over 10 episodes, @katelamble starts from the beginning, and uncovers the real inside story behind the journey of HS2.

#HS2 is currently costing £150m per week. With the equivalent spend you could build a fully equipped #NHS hospital every month.
Instead @Heidi_Labour, @RachelReevesMP & @Keir_Starmer would rather waste your cash on the appalling mess that is HS2! 🚂💷💷💷
HS2 Ltd have finally, for the first time, seem to have accepted there has been fraud associated with #HS2. It won't be the last. Just another incident in what will be a lifetime of saying "We told you so"!

#HS2 It's important to remember that campaigners pointed out BEFORE the green light was given to the original scheme that £32billion was not a realistic budget. Now it's more than £100bn for a fraction of the line promised. £100bn to Birmingham is a total scandal. @StopHS2
"#HS2 is billions over budget, is riven with corruption and if the money had been more wisely spent on essential public transport needs, then none of this conflict would have happened in the first place" #BatTunnel#ChrisPackham, Sky News, 11th Feb 2025

@stophs2 EKFB/HS2 chopped trees down, without consent, on the edge of Sheephouse Wood (SSSI) where the bats roost and the bat tunnel is to be built. They netted the remaining roosting holes and ran noisy water pumping machines day and night. Are the bats even still there?
#HS2 is a scandal which has consequences for all UK taxpayers.
Where is the accountability? There ought to be a public enquiry.

It's clear that HS2 is a very divisive subject and the perceived benefits of the scheme appear to be very much still up for debate.
But the fact remains that the combined negative impacts of infrastructure projects and developments on biodiversity in the UK is alarming (For more information follow the link to the State of Nature Report: TP25999-State-of-Nature-main-report_2023_FULL-DOC-v12.pdf).
It's disappointing, possibly due to a lack of knowledge and understanding about the importance of biodiversity (and in some cases a level of cognitive dissonance), how so many those who support projects like HS2 completely dismiss the idea that sites like South Cubbington Wood are worth protecting. But they are not the majority.
So here is a message for the next Government: The UK electorate will no longer rubber stamp projects that damage or destroy our natural heritage. No more short cuts. No more gravy trans. And no more shit-shows like HS2.
A woman from Great Missenden has saved over 80 ancient trees from felling for the #HS2 railway line – after learning they were home to a rare #bat species.

Help the @WildlifeTrusts build an overwhelming body of evidence @HS2ltd can’t ignore, by sharing your experience of how HS2 is impacting locally, and how #HS2 has already affected wildlife on the ground.

This is disgusting @HS2ltd. Over 10 years ago #sheephousewoodSSSI was highlighted to you. Clearly, it’s always been your intention to destroy habitat, like all the other #HS2 lies!

We're extremely disappointed with the Planning Inspector's decision to allow further tree work, including felling, to be carried out by HS2 at Sheephouse Wood, Charndon, a 141-acre biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. Full press release: https://t.co/62ksYx3ouA
@craig4nwarks@WaterOrtonSteve would love someone to actually help this village and feed back to us and not just say complain to the complaint department of HS2 as you know that they are bullies on the biggest scale and the responses are robotic @HS2ltd@stophs2@Hs2Our
