Challenging Taiwanese female Olympic boxer Lin Yu-ting's eligibility is not only a challenge to the International Olympic Committee but also a challenge to Taiwan as a whole. Lin Yu-ting is a globally recognized top female boxer with 16 years of experience and many international championships. This is her second Olympics, where she is fully qualified to compete for a gold medal in the sport she loves. Lin first started boxing as a child to protect her mother from domestic abuse. When she began, there were very few female boxers in Taiwan, so she trained with male boxers. Inspired by her, more talented women in Taiwan have now joined boxing. She was awarded Taiwan’s Best Female Athlete. We feel personally attacked when she is humiliated, and the President of Taiwan has announced that the government will support her in taking legal action against the IBA for damaging her reputation. Today, Lin will return to the ring once again.
