@AddressingLife These providers are better placed to organise imaging and manage ongoing treatment. With injuries like a knee problem where there’s no fracture or dislocation, MRIs are often not done immediately.
@AddressingLife For scans that aren’t urgent, MRIs are typically arranged as outpatient tests. This requires follow-up, coordination, and continuity of care, which EDs are not set up to provide. That’s why patients are often directed back to their GP, a consultant, or a physiotherapist.
@AddressingLife Hi Tracy,
Emergency Departments (EDs) are focused on urgent, short-term care rather than ongoing management. Because of this, they usually have very limited access to MRI scans, and in some hospitals they may not be able to request them directly at all.

Quarantine arrangements will be determined on a case-by-case basis and symptomatic individuals will be assessed and treated as required.
@ManitouStultus@Independent_ie Hi there, The National Health Protection Office (NHPO) is preparing appropriate follow-up and care arrangements for the two Irish nationals on board the MV Hondius. Decisions regarding repatriation will depend on their medical status and public health guidance.
