@VitalikButerin Starting with your kindness of 64 ETH, the AWF community has donated 252+ ETH to the Animal Foundation.
It's not a narrative, but a real landing rescue.
Thank you for lighting this light. We will keep it burning.❤️
In this ongoing collective effort, our community has now donated a total of 253 ETH, valued at approximately $538,890 USD based on the current ETH price of around $2,130.
This achievement is not the result of a single large contributor, but the combined outcome of tens of thousands of small, voluntary donations made by members of our community from around the world. Each contribution may be modest on its own, but together they form a continuous and meaningful flow of support toward a shared mission.
At the core of this initiative is the philosophy of Effective Altruism, which emphasizes directing resources where they can generate the highest measurable impact. It is not about the size of any individual donation, but about the effectiveness of each unit of value in improving real-world outcomes.
In parallel, the infrastructure enabling this coordination is Ethereum, which allows value to move globally in a transparent, permissionless, and verifiable way. ETH is more than a digital asset—it functions as a coordination layer that connects individuals across borders into a unified, transparent funding system.
What makes this milestone meaningful is not just the total amount, but the structure behind it: a decentralized network of contributors within our community, acting independently yet aligned in purpose, continuously supporting initiatives grounded in evidence-based, high-impact philanthropy.
253 ETH is therefore not just a number—it represents a living example of how open financial systems and collective intent can converge to create real-world impact at scale.
Maybe we are the “best-case outcome” that @VitalikButerin referred to.
