Through the electrocardiogram (EKG) provided at this screening, Brogan was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome - one of the leading causes of sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes. Brogan went on to have surgery to correct this defect and remains active in sports.
