Great progress is happening at the Mobile County Aquatic Center! Phase I is now 18% complete and on track for a Summer 2026 finish. It’s been a privilege to help bring this project from an idea to reality!
This Black History Month, we honor the lasting legacy of Mobile's civil rights heroes who fought for justice, broke down barriers, and helped build a more united community.

It was great to share updates on key projects like the Mobile County Sportsplex, the Aquatic Center, and Escatawpa Hollow Park and hear from so many engaged community members. I was honored to attend the 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast at The Calirojae. This year, the dinner's theme was "Learning to Live Together as Brothers."

Mobile’s Civil Rights and Cultural Heritage District is a cornerstone of our city’s history and a testament to the legacy of the civil rights movement. This week, I was able to join Eric Finley and Judge Freddie Stokes to tour the district and visit the Historic Avenue Cultural Center along the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue corridor. I’m grateful for the leaders and organizations dedicated to keeping this rich history alive for future generations.
Mobile's newest entertainment destination, Dave & Buster's, is officially open! I enjoyed attending their opening festivities. There was great food, and I got to try out some really fun arcade games. Congratulations on the grand opening, and welcome to Mobile!
It was an honor to attend the celebration and send-off party for Shayla Holloway, a Distinguished Young Women of Mobile County, as she prepares to compete in the Distinguished Young Women of Alabama Program. Best wishes to Shayla; I know she will represent Mobile County well!
