@PrincipalSmall I would like to give a shoutout to @Miss_Bennett3 for finding the song, having the idea to dress up/rap, AND letting her kids (in the photos above) wear their 'rap' gear. She is the greatest teaching partner OF ALL TIME.
Today we introduced the trait of voice and tried our hands at writing some different points of view about recess. Most of us decided that our recess equipment does NOT like being bounced, thrown, or sat on! #eastviewpride#teamthird
I tell my students at the beginning of every year, "I love to read. I will probably tell you that every read-aloud is 'one of my favorites', because I love them all."
@Mrs_Ary106 I meant to respond, not retweet! Clearly I need twitter lessons. I was going to say we are doing compassion first too! ...also, can I delete tweets? Like the one I accidentally just did?๐ฌ๐
#todayin4th our character focus of the week is COMPASSION. As a class we will be talking about how to practice compassion, what it looks and feels like and generate ways we can show compassion. So excited to spend time this year focused on making the world betterโก #eastviewpride
Thursday we used tuning forks to create VIBRATIONS, which created SOUND! I absolutely loved the 'organized chaos' and all the shouts of "Mrs. Hufferd! Look! Listen to this!" My teacher heart overflows. #eastviewpride
Green beans galore! Today we harvested the green beans we planted last spring in second grade! Thank you Mrs. Nobbe for your excellent guidance and extensive gardening knowledge! @Miss_Bennett3#eastviewpride#fcscspartanpride
Our first ISI investigation was a success! We used 'drop chambers' and random objects to practice sound discrimination. Now on to the next task: finding out how sound is made! #eastviewpride#fcscspartanpride
Hats off to the CHS Theater students! They did a FABULOUS job today leading tours of the Newkirk Mansion. If you haven't gone yet, I highly recommend it! Tours run tomorrow (June 24) from 1 to 6! #FCSCSpartanPride
@PrincipalSmall Excellent! I've registered for a few technology PD's, next on my list is to do some Amazon-ing (is that a verb?) so I can start my summer reading!
The first meeting of K-2 STEM Club was a success! We explored the different materials we can use to build during our different challenges in the coming weeks. #eastviewpride
Dueling Chefs in room 111 made 'pizzas' based on different fractions on the board. The one judges 'ate' most of would be the winner. But wait a minute... the judges ate the same amount from each pizza during every round! They must be equivalent fractions!
