Oh man, it does just bring back memories! It is so nice to see the USS Nebraska is looking so Majestic.
I used to be a psychiatric technician in the Navy, and 15 years ago or so, there was an accident on the USS Nebraska and the Navy dispatched to psychiatric technicians from Naval Base Pearl Harbor. Myself and another HM2 got to go escorted onto the USS Nebraska and help those sailors through that tragedy. It was such an honor to receive a Commanding Officer's coin.
This is one of my fondest memories. Females did not get to go on submarines so to have the opportunity to do so was so memorable I will never forget it. It was an honor to help those sailors.
Awesome Images from yesterday showing a Squadron of A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” Close-Air Support Aircraft being used to Escort the Ohio-Class Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine, USS Nebraska (SSBN-739) through the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Naval Base Kitsap in Northwestern Washington towards the Pacific Ocean.
If someone wants you, they look for you.
If someone wants you, they show it.
If they respect you, they won't hurt you.
If they're afraid to lose you, they'll give you reasons to stay.
If they value you, they'll make an effort.
Everything else is just an excuse.
There is a kind of hurt that
reveals a person's true character.
When someone sees you carrying
grief, fighting silent battles,
struggling to stay strong, or trying
to survive the hardest chapter of
your life and they still choose to
add to your pain, that is not a
misunderstanding. That is a choice.
Compassion is easiest when life is
good. Character is revealed when
someone has the power to be gentle
and decides not to be. If a person
can watch you suffer and respond
with cruelty, distance, or indifference,
believe what they are showing you.
Protect your peace and keep
your heart guarded.
if someone looked me in my eyes and said “no i will not give up on u. you’re worth it, im gonna learn how to love u & i’m not going anywhere” id probably bawl my eyes out tbh
“If you don’t agree with me on this you’re evil and a bad person”
Is a rhetorical fallacy whether used by the left or the right. It was most often used by the left until the last year or so.
It’s most often called an abusive ad hominem, moral blackmail, or demonizing the opposition.
You’re not debating the actual point. You’re attaching a moral label (“evil,” “bad person,” “hateful,” etc.) so that disagreement itself becomes a character flaw. The goal is to make people afraid of looking like a villain rather than evaluating the argument.
Related terms that describe the same move:
• Name-calling / labeling (a classic propaganda technique)
• False dichotomy (“agree with me or you’re evil”)
• Coercive narrative or moral intimidation
• Weaponized morality / shaming
It’s effective because most people don’t want to be seen as a bad person, so they cave or stay silent even when they don’t actually agree.
2: I thought not arguing was peace. So I shut down. She cried alone while I went cold.
If she came back, I would stay even if uncomfortable: "I don't know what to say yet, but I'm here. I won't let it repeat again"
4: I thought she should just "know I care" without me saying it daily.
If she came back, I would be boringly consistent. Good morning text. Plan kept. Reassurance without her begging.
Because now I know she didn't need grand gestures. She needed proof I wouldn't disappear.
I lost a good one trying to be distant. Don't be me.
THE AVOIDANT DOESN'T WANT A PARTNER (HERE'S WHAT THEY WANT INSTEAD)
You assume they want a relationship. They say they do. They act like it... some of the time. But the truth is: they don't want a partner. They want something else altogether.
WHAT THEY ACTUALLY WANT:
Someone who's around — but never too close
Someone who cares — but never needs anything back
Someone who waits — while they sort their own stuff out
Someone who gets it — without them ever explaining
A WOMAN'S SILENCE OFTEN COMES AFTER SHE'S ALREADY TRIED.
Research on relationships consistently shows that communication, emotional responsiveness, and feeling understood are important for relationship satisfaction. That's why when a woman repeatedly explains what hurts her and nothing changes, she may eventually stop explaining—not because she suddenly stopped caring, but because she stopped believing her words would make a difference. Sometimes silence isn't the beginning of distance; it's the result of it.
AVOIDANTS BE LIKE:
"I'm going to enter your life, text you daily, make you believe we're building forever, and make you feel safe enough to fall hard.
Then the moment I'm expected to communicate like an adult, own my behavior, or face conflict - I'll vanish. Because running from my problems is easier than facing them.
Then I'll tell everyone 'it just didn't work out' because I'm too afraid to speak the truth. 1/7
