Lavrov continues speaking about the need to "eliminate root causes of the conflict" - i.e., for Ukraine to capitulate.

According to him, NATO and especially Europe are bad (the Baltics practice Nazism - Lavrov), the United States "give hope." Europe is trying to revive Nazism in Ukraine.

Lavrov's statements clearly show that Russia is not ready for any constructive peace talks.

▪️ "It is good that the Americans have understood the root causes of the conflict must be eliminated. They have clearly stated that there can be no Ukraine in NATO, that the lands where Russians have lived for centuries must once again become Russian, and that the Russian language, culture, and the rights of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church must be restored."

▪️ "A negotiation process is underway. Our position is clear. The root causes of the conflict must be eliminated. These include the threats to Russia created by NATO’s eastward expansion toward our borders and by attempts to draw Ukraine into the alliance, as well as the refusal to discuss our proposals for collective, reciprocal security measures."

▪️ "Another threat is the destruction of everything Russian in territories that for centuries were lands of the Russian people, culture, and history, but ended up within Ukraine due to a historical accident. ▪️ "Europe resembles an incompetent doctor who refuses to understand what illness you came to him with and instead just gives you some pill or mixture to make you feel slightly better for five minutes. These European 'doctors' do not make a diagnosis."

▪️ "The Americans are trying to figure it out. Recent contacts with them give hope that they have begun to understand our position more deeply - to understand what needs to be done for this conflict to be resolved reliably and sustainably, rather than simply reaching another ceasefire so that Ukraine can once again be pumped full of weapons. The process is therefore ongoing. We are waiting for the Americans’ reaction to how they spoke with the Ukrainians."
