The final opinion piece from our team looking back at their 2024 comes from editor @HugoAPRodrigues, writing about how volunteering at a pool lifesaving competition became a chance at a 90s dance party. https://t.co/FBr4Iv9csI
@calphonso Wishing you the best on your new beat! Eager anticipation for that and whomever steps in to cover education. So few FT on ed in Canada, and it's needed.
#cwlpoli geeks, your City of Cornwall 2025 draft budget documents are now posted. In a new section of the city's website, not the budget-management page that's been in use for six years. (sigh) https://t.co/rJcEZ6jqWo
The yourTV Cornwall team wishes colleague and friend Todd Hambleton of the @StandFreeholder all the best in his retirement after a distinguished career. Thanks Todd for all that you've done over the years. #TrulyLocal

I'd like to extend my personal thanks to #cwlpoli Coun. Claude McIntosh, a @StandFreeholder alum, for taking a moment to recognize @freeholdertodd at the regular council meeting last night on his pending retirement. Classy to acknowledge 33yrs of dedication to the Cornwall area
Allow me to take a moment or two to note @Dolighan's toons of late have been on point, and as usual, hilarious. To whit, No. 1: https://t.co/DoaMD6JpwT
Holy Rogers. As we were all distracted, note it'll take over a bunch of WB specialty channel brands and programs (from Corus and Bell). Then today's item on MLSE. Big shift in our Canadian media ecosystems.
Cornwall police board has approved a 2025 budget estimate of $24,121,823, a 4.98% increase over 2024. In approving it, that figure now gets rolled into #cwlpoli 2025 budget for council's consideration and approval.
@cwlpolice Chief Spowart asking board to increase number of sworn officers from 106 to 109 in 2025. To replace three who have been off on WSIB leaves for over a year.
Spowart also speaks about four community safety officers included in the 2025 @cwlpolice budget. They'll fit in between sworn officers, and special constables.
