Fourteen U.S. presidents never wore the uniform.
Fourteen.
And three of them are the ones you defend so passionately.
Clinton.
Obama.
Biden.
None of them served a single day in the Armed Forces.
And you know what?
That’s not a crime.
Military service has never been a requirement to be president.
The Constitution doesn't say so.
No law says so.
Period.
So, tell me one thing.
Why does it bother you so much when Trump puts his hand to his forehead?
Let me guess.
You think only a soldier can give a military salute.
You think Trump has no right to do it because he never served.
I’ve got news for you.
The president is the Commander-in-Chief.
Both civilian and military leader.
That’s why soldiers salute him.
And that’s why he can return the salute.
Do you know who started that tradition?
Ronald Reagan, in 1981.
Before him, no president returned the salute.
Not even Eisenhower, who was a five-star general in World War II.
Reagan started it.
And everyone who came after him followed suit.
Bush Sr.
Clinton.
Bush Jr.
Obama.
Biden.
They all saluted.
Including your Obama.
Do you remember how Obama saluted the Marines?
With a cup of coffee in his hand.
Without putting the coffee down.
You saw that, alright.
You thought that was classy.
But when Trump stands at attention, looking at the flag, with his hand to his forehead just as he should...
That’s when you get offended.
That’s when you ask by what right he does it.
Let’s call a spade a spade.
The problem isn't the gesture.
The problem is who is making it.
When the president you hate salutes, you call it theatrics.
When the president you applaud salutes, you call it respect.
That’s your double standard.
Not mine. And while you argue about the position of a hand, let me tell you who never asks that question.
Veterans.
Those who served and came home.
Those who are still serving today.
The mothers and fathers who right now have a child in uniform, far from home.
They don’t ask why Trump salutes.
They already know.
They feel it in their bones, because they lived it.
The only ones who ask are those who never understood the price paid for this flag.
Those who see a salute and only calculate whom to hate.
Trump honors those who put their lives on the line for this country.
Those who serve.
Those who served.
Those who didn't come home.
And if that bothers you, the problem was never Trump.
The problem is you.
You don't mess with the United States. Period.
Did reading this make you uncomfortable? That was the point.

And tell me if I’m wrong. 👇
