Sorry for our prolonged absence. All is well, but it's been very difficult to juggle work and Hugs. I will be leaving this account open, but will be mostly posting on my other account so I can combine Hugs with my personal blog; so give us a follow @LilOrangeDog
We never know what someone else is going through, so being kind to everyone is really important. Just a brief moment of kindness has the power to change someone's life.

Life is a journey and will always be full of ups and downs. If you suffer with mental illness those lows can feel lower than they may do for someone who has never suffered. When you're stuck in a valley, try to remind yourself that it will pass and you will be stronger.

Depression is very real. The depths to which you can sink, can be absolutely terrifying. Telling someone to 'man up,' is not helpful. If you're lucky enough not to have lived through your own MH crisis, don't judge, just listen and be there.

Recovering from mental illness is a journey of change. You will find you are stronger, more resilient and you will appreciate the little things in life so much more than you previously did. It's not an easy road, but it is enlightening.

If you know someone suffers from mental illness, supporting them can be difficult at times, but please keep on. Keep on loving them unconditionally, offering a listening ear, sending a text, calling them and letting them know you are there for them.

Depression and anxiety are great tools for building the highest, strongest walls. By practising self care, learning about your diagnosis and gradually reaching out for help, you can and will break down your walls.

People living with depression, are often their own worst enemies. We often find it easy to be kind to others, but berate ourselves for the smallest of things. Learning to be kinder to ourselves is a massive step towards recovery, and long term, for taking care of our MH.

Good evening all.
Just checking in to see how you all are.
I now have my new glasses and can see clearly, so can get back to posting on here without getting headaches. Who knew new glasses could make such a difference ๐คฃ๐
Yes, I know that it's difficult to believe when you are in 'that' place, but you can get better, and you will get better; when you are ready and in your own time. Recovery is a marathon, not a 100 metre sprint, so be patient and be kind to yourself along the way.

Don't forget it's OK not to be OK; you don't have to hide it and you should never feel ashamed of it. One in four of us will suffer with mental illness at some point in our lives, so though you may feel alone, you're not.

Everything that happens to us is a lesson. Some lessons are good, some are not, but each one of them is an opportunity to learn, to grow and to change. Every one of them shapes us; don't be afraid to be the person you are.
