I suppose that is one way to read it. But God explicitly calls it the "day of Atonement". DAY of atonement. That it wouldn't overlap neatly on top of the other time periods that God calls a day would be odd.

The way I read it is that this is reiterating what a day is: the ninth day ends at evening and the tenth day ends at evening. The Day of Atonement overlaps the tenth day.

Verse 27 states this: "Only -- on the tenth of this seventh month is a day of atonements"

Only on the 10th.

What does the NT (and Revelation especially) say about this casting off of the 2nd Temple?

There are many words used to designate and distinguish Him in Scripture. Name means so much more than specific letters or sounds. Name in Scripture is "shem" and means a being's authority, character, and reputation. The word you use to reference a specific being does not diminish their shem. Which is why the word "Father" is fine even though it isn't the word that God gave to Moses to designate Himself. "God" isn't that word either. Getting hung up on "Jesus" is kinda superficial to me. It isn't an insult. It is a reference to the same being as the word "Yeshua." If you want to use Yeshua, great.

Were we talking in person, I would try to accommodate whatever word you preferred. This is the Internet so I'm using colloquial language.

And since it isn't His exact name, I don't feel the need to use nomina sacra.
