At around 1.400 US$/t for Marine diesel, Hull Vane payback periods are now about five times shorter than two years ago.
For some #ships (a.o. Fast Supply Vessels), that means we have to start counting in months, not years.

Not nearly as much is invested in existing technologies with a negative CO2 abatement cost (e.g. Hull Vane, insulating houses, etc).

It's really cool to see the market coming towards us. Six years ago "decarbonisation" and "energy saving" were none-issues. We found out we had to sell Hull Vane on its other benefits (speed, silence, seakeeping, reduced wavemaking). How that has changed...
When you wish to reduce CO2 emissions of your house, you first insulate, put double glazing and install LED lighting. Then you look at (smaller) heat pumps and (less) solar panels.
On ships, you start by reducing the resistance. That's where we come in.
