Definitely going to start using this as an excuse to blow off events moving forward.
“Hey man, you coming to that dinner tonight?”
“Circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so.”
@DPearsonPHL@peterawolf DC was really connecting the dots with Tony and Chris and the cars. First and last scenes together. Tony finally gets a new car (Escalade, which is also Chris’ last car), crash with Adrianna, Chris shooting up the Suburban, their crash together. Chris had a wild lineup 🤣
There is truly nothing better than being a bandwagon Flyers fan. I am not scarred by years of mediocrity, I get to treat every game like it’s life or death, and I will move on quickly if they lose the series.
Rewatching ozark. Pelphrey every year approaches stephen root levels of goat “hey it’s that guy” character actors. I hope he gets more stuff. Task was incredible.
@harrisonfinberg S. 9th St roomie murder a few weeks ago appears to be a rental scammer/squatter they couldn’t evict in time. I finally left prop Mngmnt/RE world 1.5 years ago. Plenty of shit landlords, but these tenant “advocacy” groups never advocate for ppl in real danger from legit psychos
American goalie Connor Hellebuyck has a largemouth bass on his gold medal game helmet. Largemouth bass is the most popular freshwater sport fish in the US, with millions of Americans fishing for bass each year. If you’ve never been, it’s the easiest “gateway fish” to get into with your kids IMO.
Similar to Pittman-Robertson dollars (excise tax on guns and ammo that funds wildlife conservation) sport fishing gear in America has a similar excise tax on tackle, gear and so on (called Dingle-Johnson), tied to license sales, that sends millions to the states for habitat restoration, fish stocking programs, research, and public access (ramps).
Since the program began, it’s sent $12b to sport fish conservation, with a huge portion of that driven by American’s love for bass.
Similar to deer, large scale commercial harvest of large and small mouth bass and habitat degradation meant bass were severely imperiled in the early 1900s. The Senate intervened in the 20s, publishing a report that said bass will be gone if we didn’t do something.
Dingle-Johnson was passed in the 50s modeled after Pittman-Robertson. The focus was on vegetation restoration, habitat management, population science restoring bass to abundance. Another major conservation success story thanks to 🇺🇸 hunters and anglers.
