Last month, Disney fired 1000 employees, namely artists, designers, and other creatives who brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life.

Last week, Meta laid off 8000 employees and replaced them with AI.

If this trend continues, and no human has a job, then who is going to pay for the products created by the “super-efficient” companies? Is this the future we should be okay with?

Commencement speeches about AI keep getting booed by grads.

And no wonder – grads who’ve spent their time and money to get knowledge and skills during their time in college were told that most of that will be done by AI instead.

Honestly, this is frustrating. Do we really need to replace everything with AI? Does it have to be this way?

What will the future of the Internet look like?

Google is planning to shift towards only AI-generated answers and summaries, while Anthropic bought millions of rare books, scanned and destroyed them. If other companies join this trend, does this mean the Internet will shift towards misinformation and a lack of perspectives and sources? It doesn’t have to be this way.

Trust is disappearing online.

AI is becoming increasingly proficient at generating content, and with uploaded content, it is even easier to “transform” a picture or video into a completely different person. Sometimes, this content is almost indistinguishable from the real one. Cool, but scary, isn’t it?

People need a way to know who they are interacting with, not to exclude technology, but to protect humanity within it.
