Every woman and child deserves safety, dignity and protection. The continued violence against women and children is heartbreaking and unacceptable. As a society, we must speak out against femicide, abuse, neglect and all forms of violence targeting the most vulnerable.
Protecting women and children is not a favour it is a responsibility. Justice systems, communities, families and leaders must act decisively to prevent violence, support survivors and hold perpetrators accountable.Silence protects abusers speaking out can save lives.

My heart goes out to Utumishi Girls Academy community after a fire that claimed 16 lives, with 79 injured. May you find comfort and strength in one another. This tragedy must drive urgent action from the MOE to ensure safe, dignified environments for all students. @AmnestyKenya

ED @irunguhoughton remarks at the launch of @DefendersKE#SaferToDefend 2026-2030 Strategic Plan.
Long live Defenders Coalition!
At a time when human rights defenders continue to face increasing risks and restrictions, your steadfast commitment to protection, solidarity, and justice remains both essential and inspiring.
Your work ensures that those who courageously stand for rights and dignity are never not alone. We celebrate this important milestone.
The future of peoples power and the Kingdom of social justice is not in PBOs. We have our role to play. The future of Article 1 is multi generational, multi class, multi gender and sexually diverse. It is distributive and powered by ordinary people.
The last eight years have been the most impactful personally and institutionally. Much of this human rights impact could not have been possible without this Haki village. We are eternally grateful.
On Madaraka Day, Freedom Day, Amnesty International Kenya will have a new leader.
Page one of my handover notes to my successor, will be a simple sentence “Amnesty International and Defenders Coalition must continue to speak truth to power and defend human rights for all including OCS.”
I give my personal pledge to continue resourcing, mentoring and directly acting for social justice. No retirement until our constitution breathes without the life support of HRDs.
Long live Haki Village
In solidarity always!

#Statement: Dismissing the #MadamsOfMaiMahiu exposé as a 'hoax' is an insult to survivors and a green light to traffickers. We demand immediate, transparent investigations into the child sex trafficking allegations — and accountability for the five months of police inaction. Read full statement: https://t.co/ABKgp0p0b4
Intersectionality should be at the heart of every youth initiative. Youth have diverse identities which exposes them to different forms and levels of discrimination due to their multiple identities. There is no “one size fits all” youth intervention. #InternationalYouthDay
As a society, we have a moral responsibility to guard elderly people from this form of human rights violation. No elderly person should be subjected to murder because of their identity. Right to life applies to all human beings regardless of age. @NPSOfficial_KE@HakiKNCHR
