The remarkable resilience of 🇺🇦refugees integrating into European labour markets (50%+ employment in some countries) masks a harsh reality. Millions of #Ukrainians powering host economies still face immense challenges. At our #OSCEPAPorto25 side event, we stressed: urgent action is needed to protect 6.9M displaced #Ukrainians from #HumanTrafficking. A comprehensive anti-trafficking framework is CRUCIAL. Thanks to @oscepa 🇬🇧UK Delegation, UK @APPG_CSE & #HumanTraffickingFoundation for co-organizing this vital side event.

Good to attend @HumanTraffFdn and @LGAcomms roundtable to speak about Modern Slavery Coordinators. I also met with the Coordinators to hear about the important role they play in local communities identifying victims and connecting them with the right support services and care.
For the 9,501 negative reasonable grounds decisions issued, the most common reason for this was the referral had insufficient information to meet the standard of proof required. The second most common reason was that the referral did not meet the definition of modern slavery.🧵
🧵The end of year summary of 2024 National Referral Mechanism Statistics has been published. 19,125 potential victims of modern slavery were referred to the Home Office in 2024, representing a 13% increase compared to the preceding year https://t.co/XNfCgCVgra🧵
🧵In 2024, 70% of reasonable grounds decisions which were reconsidered received a positive outcome. For conclusive grounds decisions, 68% were positive, and 7% of disqualification decisions were overturned🧵
