There are no ITU beds in the valleys. So you might be 23 and invincible if you get COVID but what if you crash your car? Or a friend takes an overdose or a parent needs emergency surgery? Guess what! No beds for you either. And THAT’S how this affects everyone. Rant over.

The hospital needed the extra covid beds, so they shut our Paediatric emergency department and us Paeds nurses were re-deployed to work in adults. It’s been tough, but not as scary as I thought it would be...
...I don’t know what to do about that? We don’t see heart attacks in paeds much. Luckily one of my colleagues could see it was a struggle for me and stepped in to help.
Obviously we had to help out, and I’ve learned a lot, but I can’t wait for paediatrics to re-open here...
