The Vatsa kshatriyas of Kaushambi-Prayagraj from Mahajanpad era, came to be identified as Chauhan rajputs in the 'Rajput Era'.
One of the great rulers from the Shakambhari dynasty of those very Vatsa Kshatriyas (Chauhan Rajputs) was Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan III, to whom we offer our respectful homage on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The memory of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan was so cherished by Hindustanis that more than 665 years after his death, when the rebel troops of the 1857 freedom struggle marched on to The Red Fort to resist British imperialism, their slogan was : “ 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐯𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐣 𝐊𝐢 𝐉𝐚𝐢 ”.
The memory of Samrat Prithvraj was so cherished by the Hindustanis that when 600 yrs later the rebellious troops of 1857 marched on to Red Fort, their slogan was:
"𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐯𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐣 𝐊𝐢 𝐉𝐚𝐢"
(Remembering him as last Hindu Emperor of India)

The Chikkalagi inscription refers to the Kalchuri king, Bijjala as ‘Mahabhujabalachakravarti’ meaning the great (Maha) unopposed ruler (Cakravartin) with strong (Bala) arms (Bhuja).
Bijjala, was the first Rajput king to use the slogan VEER BHOGYA VASUNDHARA in his inscription.
Latest QS Rajputana Rankings: Kachvaha rank dips after the Prince wears a shiny coat at a fashion event. The clan’s reputation had already taken a hit this Holi when the family was not seen partaking in the tradition of flinging mud and abuses, but rather celebrated it like this:
While the history of Mathura-Vṛndāvana goes back almost two millennia, the modern-day town of Vṛndāvana is a work of Vaiṣṇava pioneers of Vallabha and Gauḍīya tradition and their Rājpūt patrons, the Kachvāhās of Jaipur-Amer and Bundelās of Orchha.
@DivyaSoti Correction : Shivaji did not install/establish Maharaja Chhatrasal as hero of Bundelkhand. Chhatrasal actually left Raigarh with disappointment as Shivaji refused to give him any actual help. This is corroborated in Tarikh-i-Dilkhusha — the contemporary memoirs of Bhimsen Saxena.
Some aspects of Peshwa Bajirao which arent talked about much. This thread is in response to one peshwa fanboi.
1. There is one claim that goes around that Peshwa Bajirao captured Delhi after defeating mighty Mughal army at Delhi. While as always truth is slightly different.
Marathas are the only community of this nation who would gladly declare their own ancestors as bastards, if it helps them demean others.
I’ll be more than pleased to address this lame logic if @MamalkatMadar answers my two simple questions :
1• Shivaji’s family claimed Sisodiya Rajput ancestry from Mewar itself. So technically, aren’t you implying that your Chhatrapati was an offspring of 3 different fathers too? (which he really was, but that’s a whole different topic ….)

2• If Sisodiyas aren’t Kshatriya, then why do you even have this word in your username? Your clan — Ghorpade Marathas — attained Kshatriya certificate after proving themselves illegitimate offsprings of the Maharanas of Mewar only.

PS : Notice how this neech has unnecessarily posted a vulgar image of Rajmaata Jaivanta Bai here. These are the ‘sanskaars’ passed down from generation to generation in ‘Kulin’ Maratha families.
A short tale highlighting the fearless devotion of our Maharajas towards their praja post-Independence.

Late on the night of 24 February 1948, Maharaja Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur received a telegram sent by Maharajkumar Girdhar Singh of Jaisalmer, apprising him of the intelligence received by him. The telegram read: "Intruders from Bahawalpur, Pakistan have entered the country and have reached Dewa, about 24 miles from Jaisalmer, devastating the settlements en route. Succour solicited from Jodhpur to immediately deploy aircraft, trucks or other means to contain advancement of the enemy".
Maharaja Hanwant Singh immediately called his PM, commanders of state military and police forces; consulted with them on the situation and issued instant orders to: deploy Haifa fame Jodhpur Lancers and other forces to counter the enemy, moving them in trucks and jeeps, along with means of communication like wireless sets etc to Jaisalmer; declare emergency condition in the state.
He informed the defence minister Sardar Baldev Singh in the interim government of India about the invasion and the immediate measures undertaken by him to cope with the menace.
Maharaja Hanwant Singh also ordered one of his aeroplanes to fly to Dewa to report the status of advance by the enemy and another one to bring the Jaisalmer royal family to Jodhpur for safety. The latter task was assigned to the commander of Maharaja's bodyguard force Durga Horse, Col Mohan Singh Bhati.
When Col Mohan Singh conveyed the message of Jodhpur Maharaja to Maharawal Jawahar Singh of Jaisalmer to come to Jodhpur along with his family and valuables for safety; the Maharawal standing true to his blood replied: "I will be with my countrymen in such perilous times. It will be cowardice to depart, leaving them to face invaders. I shall not impart this slur to my illustrious race. Tell the Maharaja to send military aid. We shall prefer dying fighting the foe rather than leaving Jaisalmer."
A sortie to monitor movement of intruders frightened them and they began a quick retreat, leaving all the loot, fearing an air attack. By the time personnel from Jodhpur arrived through surface transportation, the intruders were chased back to their home.
In reprisal, Bhati Rajputs raided villages in Pakistan and sent a strong message to the Pathans.

Such was the indomitable spirit of the Maharawal that he chose to stand with his praja and face the tribal host alone, rather than flee at the first whisper of danger.
One wonders, how many of today’s leaders possess even a fraction of that courage when confronted with true adversity?
How many of them are willing to surrender their comfort and stand at the front, facing a host of enemies themselves?
