Yesterday we welcomed Jonathan Brearley, CEO @ofgem, to learn about #VikingCCS. We discussed how the project was progressing and how we, along with our cluster members, are working together to help accelerate the country’s transition to #NetZero.
📢Today @energygovuk published it's #CCUS Vision & updates on cluster sequencing to deliver a world-leading UK carbon capture industry: outlining a strategy to store 50Mt/year by 2035, supporting decarbonisation of domestic industries & taking advantage of export opportunities.
Fantastic announcement on the Track 2 process for carbon capture and storage. This is a positive step forward and we look forward to continuing our work with @vikingccs and the UK Government.
Big plans for the #CCS industry! Today’s #Track2 announcement from the Government outlines a clear process to assign key emitters to #CCSClusters, helping us to accelerate the UK’s transition to #NetZero.

Energy Security Secretary @clairecountinho attends #CCUS2023Conference hosted by @The_CCSA to demonstrate support for CCUS as it sets out to:
🟢Help industry decarbonise
💷 Add up to £5bn to the economy by 2050
👷♀️Support up to 50,000 jobs in 2030
But what is CCUS? 📽️👇
It has been a great two days at the @The_CCSA conference! We believe carbon capture will be a key technology in delivering a lower carbon future, as well as supporting a UK supply chain to develop and create local jobs.
In our second plenary session of the day, keynote speakers are discussing the current state of #CCUS deployment in the UK, providing a deep-dive into how to accelerate deployment.

Alongside @vikingccs & @VPI_Power, we are supporting @HCFCatch to develop a National Net Zero Training Centre. Statistics predict there will be a 40% skills gap by 2028 for highly skilled jobs such as welding & electrical engineering.

🔎Take a look at our newest case study of @HumberZero!
Humber Zero is a world-scale project to reduce the CO₂ emissions of critical industry using carbon capture. The project will be able to prevent up to 3.8 Mt CO₂ from entering the atmosphere each year.
A big read on the Humber, a 'Net Zero super cluster nestled on the North Sea super basin for carbon capture and storage'.
