science, facts, truth honesty. Here to learn. Avoid personal opinions for facts. Love to be challenged. Will be patient and respectful and hope for that back.
@WombleFlyBoy@SamBarber1910@jk_rowling I was also unaware of this and grateful for it being highlighted. Perhaps I should be paying more attention but I have lots of other stuff in life to pay attention too.
Posting and highlighting truth is never wrong. Those already aware can ignore.
@NotThatDragonD@GyllKing To clarify what I’m saying. Yes gender / sex is part of someone’s identity. Like species, colour, race it’s not something that one can control.
You can’t ’identify as’ something outside your genotype however badly you want it.
@enfilmigult@GyllKing Yes I do.
Some people can debate ie they directly answer the points made by others.
Some cannot. They tend to just make personal comments.
Could you please put together a coherent argument to defend what you’re trying to say. Do you understand what clarify means?
@enfilmigult@GyllKing Struggling to find a coherent argument in your post.
Yes I spend every day round gay people. All seem to be secure and proud of their bodies. Like all humans some are not and wish to be taller , shorter etc.
clarify your stance.
@CloverSevenLeaf@mckinnon89574 This reference confirms that sex is binary in normal in normal human beings.
In pathological circumstances (see reference above for the various disorders), anomalous sexual development can give rise to a spectrum.
Do not confuse disorders with normal human developmental.
@CloverSevenLeaf@SueSitsSeaside You mentioned it above. It’s phenotype.
That is primary sex characteristics and secondary sex characteristics in that order.
What are your primary sex characteristics?
@KatBranSecrets Logic check. You are implying:
Because you feel sexism etc that means you must be women and nothing less.
Can you see the flaw in your argument?
@702ValetParker@DanniBrener I’m not quite sure why you’re acting as if Riley implied that a uterus was a litmus test for womanhood. She never stated that anywhere in her post.
@seanapriori@datadriven_tdoc@zaelefty Yes. Gender identity/ dysphoria is more often transient, not observable/ measurable and not part of mammalian survival behaviour.
Furthermore everyone has and experiences sexuality. Only a very tiny minority experience gender identity. This results in 99% wondering if it exists.
@seanapriori@datadriven_tdoc@zaelefty No it’s entirely proper. Sexuality is a hard coded non transient, measurable behavioural trait necessary for survival and therefore works as an identity.
@seanapriori@datadriven_tdoc@zaelefty Good thought. Orientation is a behaviour rather than emotion.
Behaviours and instincts are generally non transient and therefore can be the basis of identity.
Also these are observable/ measurable and therefore falsifiable.
Very different from emotions.
@datadriven_tdoc@zaelefty I’m going to agree with you here Laura, and say yes gender identity is more like ‘love’ being an emotion that is experienced.
Do emotions have a biological basis? - yes.
Can they be the basis of identity? - only transient identities eg lovers, happy people, depressives.
@oolon Ok so am I right in thinking the consequences of this for normal humans is that their sex cannot be changed after full development?
And consequences for eg trans woman is that they’re still male sex?
@yvonne83417362@jbvconnor@PeterTatchell Ok. But, with respect, i have made a counterpoint to your argument that 6y olds should be taken seriously. You have thus far not answered that. I’m asking you a question.
@yvonne83417362@jbvconnor@PeterTatchell Sex is never ‘chosen’ or ‘assigned’ for normal humans. It is observed.
You may have had a disorder that caused ambiguity.
Sorry not enough info to answer your question about yourself.
Does your experience have anything to do with how normal 6 year olds should be handled?
@NightOwl157@BrodyB660880@Theleftorwright …aaand another great example of how those that follow gender ideology cannot keep a debate going as the logic falls apart. Only one way out if you’re unable to follow the truth…
@NightOwl157@BrodyB660880@Theleftorwright So LGB is simply making a choice of the partner they prefer. They accept everything about THEMSELVES.
T as you state above reject their own body ie reject THEMSELVES. Couldn’t be more different.
Isn’t T closer to body dysmorphic disorders than LGB?
@yvonne83417362@jbvconnor@PeterTatchell No one said you did.
You are however arguing that at 6 you were not taken seriously.
So my counterpoint is that many children want to be many things. It’s ’make believe’, healthy and correctly not taken seriously.
