CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND SANCTIONS
We call on relevant international sporting bodies, human-rights organisations and democratic institutions to urgently investigate the circumstances surrounding the violent attack on Omoyele Sowore and members of his team during activities connected to the Ikogosi Marathon in Ekiti State.
There must be serious international scrutiny of the role of the Ekiti State Government, the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, and the organisers of the Ikogosi Marathon, including Makinde Araoye, in the circumstances surrounding these disturbing events.
We call for appropriate international measures and sanctions where investigations establish responsibility, complicity or facilitation of political violence.
No government official, political actor or sporting-event organiser should be allowed to use their position or influence to facilitate violence, intimidation or attacks against citizens.
Sporting events are meant to promote peace, unity, human dignity and healthy competition—not provide an environment for political violence or intimidation.
The world must pay attention.
There must be a credible, thorough and independent investigation. Everyone responsible must be identified, and anyone found culpable must be held accountable.
NO IMPUNITY.
NO COVER-UP.
NO ESCAPE FROM ACCOUNTABILITY.

FORMAL DEMAND FOR THE PRESERVATION AND DISCLOSURE OF CCTV EVIDENCE
We are deeply concerned by reports that the Nigeria Police Force and/or the Department of State Services (DSS) took custody of the CCTV camera and/or recording equipment from the restaurant in Ado-Ekiti where Omoyele Sowore and members of his team were reportedly attacked.
Accordingly, we formally call on the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, and the relevant authorities of the Department of State Services (DSS), Ekiti State, to immediately clarify:
Which agency took custody of the CCTV camera, recording device, or any related digital storage equipment;
The date, time, legal basis, and circumstances under which the equipment was taken;
Where the equipment and all associated CCTV recordings are presently being kept;
Whether the original footage and all digital evidence have been properly preserved against deletion, alteration, manipulation, or destruction; and
What steps are being taken to ensure that the footage is made available for a credible, transparent, and impartial investigation.
The CCTV footage constitutes potentially material evidence concerning the events that occurred at the location. Any person or institution in custody of such evidence has a responsibility to ensure its proper preservation and to prevent any interference with its integrity.
We therefore demand the immediate preservation of the original recordings and all associated metadata, and that the relevant authorities provide a clear public account of the chain of custody of the equipment and footage.
The public is entitled to confidence that evidence relevant to an alleged attack will be preserved and handled transparently. The CCTV evidence must not be allowed to disappear, be altered, or be compromised.
We demand accountability, transparency, and a credible investigation into what happened in Ado-Ekiti.

In the last few days, we have experienced some of the most brutal and vicious attacks from both state and non-state actors. The objective is clear: to intimidate, silence, incapacitate, and ultimately prevent me from campaigning as a presidential candidate in the 2027 elections.
The most horrific of these attacks occurred yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where more than 100 armed thugs, allegedly led by one ex-convicted killer on the payroll of the Ekiti State Governor, Sola Adenijo, also known as “Solar,” descended on us while we were having lunch at a restaurant. We were violently attacked, injured, and robbed in broad daylight.
We know that these attackers enjoyed material support from the lawless Department of State Services (DSS), the same agency that has subjected me to a politically motivated prosecution in Abuja, which is designed to obstruct my presidential campaign and punish me for refusing to surrender to tyranny.
But this time, they messed with the wrong people!
Those who believe that violence, intimidation, state-sponsored repression, and judicial harassment will force us out of the political arena have made a grave miscalculation.
We will pursue justice for these attacks through every lawful means available. Those responsible, including anyone who planned, financed, facilitated, or provided official cover for this violence, will be identified and brought to justice.
We will not retreat. We will not surrender. We will not be intimidated.
The struggle for the liberation of Nigeria must go on, and it will go on until victory!
