I’m really quite happy just to play one note, & just to hit it at different volume levels. And just, y’know, see how long it will resonate for, before it stops.
#IShootRockStars A favourite photo I took of Mark Hollis when we walked across Kansas. He once said: "If anybody ever disproved Darwin’s theory of evolution, it was Popey. Because when everybody else was queuing for brains, this boy was at the bakery queuing up for doughnuts."

Filming Talk Talk’s ‘Such a Shame’.
A wonderful photo by Steve Rapport beautifully captures the relationship between Mark and me.
Steve (aka @NorthBankNorman) was present on many of my shoots, and @thecure’s ‘In Between Days’ graces the cover.

Mark Hollis was played this beautiful cover just before its release on @_FiercePanda, and said he enjoyed it very much.
Such a beautiful song, capturing the turning of the season.

My book’s coming soon! From Bowie calling me a ‘funny little arsehole’ to dressing Freddie like a giant Mediterranean prawn, and the real story inside The Cure’s ‘Close to Me’ wardrobe - plus many more behind-the-scenes tales.
On this day in 1955, Mark Hollis was born. A voice that moved from chart hits to quiet innovation, he reshaped pop, post-rock, and the idea that less could say so much more.
@_colinmoore I don’t recall if Tim Pope ever provided a reason for the location. I always found the colour palette and lighting quite lovely. While other bands were off shooting in tropical locations here was a band focused on music on a clean and non-distracting backdrop in rural England. 🤷🏻♀️
41 years ago, on Friday, June 13th, Tim Pope created 2 fantastic videos for one song. The vocals were live for both takes.
