Restore hit 7% in latest @BMGResearch for @theipaper - just one point behind Lib Dems.
Lowe's party is still at a level where it would probably get no more than one seat - but it's eating into Reform's support.
One Reform insider dubbed Lowe a “kamikaze pilot”.
@NotACleverName0@zayonsocial Sengun just needs to pick one spot from 3 point range, like the center, and just knock it down. He shouldn’t have to do corner 3s.
Texas is still a Republican state, but the long-term Senate trend is hard to ignore.
Normalize Texas Senate results against the national House vote, and the state has moved much closer to the national partisan baseline:
2006: R+34.0
2008: R+22.7
2012: R+17.1
2014: R+21.5
2018: R+11.2
2020: R+12.9
2024: R+5.8
The linear trend works out to roughly 5 points less Republican every four years.
2018 wasn’t just a Beto anomaly. The broader series shows Texas’s U.S. Senate vote has become substantially less Republican relative to the national electorate.
Arizona shows a remarkably similar trajectory — roughly 5.5 points less Republican every four years — but it started closer to the national baseline and has already crossed to the Democratic side in recent Senate races.
Same general direction. Arizona is simply further along.
@GrantMa25066011 No, @GrantMa25066011, the polls are not over-estimating Talarico. If Paxton wins, it’ll be only by 1 or 2 points. Abbott will outperform him by 4 points.
@SoapsandSciFi@PurpleHeartMan Her botched abortion comment and abusing her staffers could definitely hurt her, but voters are very selfish in nature — they care more about what goes into their pocketbooks rather than this scandal. “It’s the economy, stupid.”
@mdavidwakefield@JHawleyStan Definitely baiting; if @JHawleyStan can get access to confidential info, the leaks from those who do the GOP opposition research must be vast.
@NC_Patri0t Would have been way more fun if this race was only between her and Sullivan but for some reason Alaska thinks it is special and they need RCV.
@PurpleHeartMan If slurs mattered, Trump would have lost by a landslide, but people voted for him due to Biden’s economy and the backlash against Kamala.
It’s why Bo French in Texas still has a chance of winning.
The remarks are bad, for sure, but it won’t be campaign-ending stuff.
@PurpleHeartMan I’m gonna be really honest; this shit would have mattered in 2020, but it’s 2026 and people are a lot more edgy and are less-woke.
Moreover, people vote based on gas prices and how their wallet is doing, not on if a person used slurs or not, or any other non-financial thing.
