Best known as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz here’s Ray Bolger breaking all the “rules” of classic Hollywood choreography in “April in Paris” (1952)
Rodney Dangerfield built an entire comedy empire around one idea:
"I don’t get no respect."
His wife didn’t respect him.
His doctor insulted him.
Even his psychiatrist was useless.
That was Rodney’s genius.
He made being insulted, ignored, and completely dismissed feel like an art form.
The wild part is Rodney didn’t become a major star until later in life after years of struggling in clubs and working regular jobs to support his family.
Then in the late 70s and 80s, he suddenly became everywhere.
No long setup.
No wasted words.
Just joke after joke after joke.
Classic Rodney.
Classic 80s comedy.
This is actually a pretty decent skit for being a fairly recent episode of SNL. Honestly, I think the funniest part is that they can't keep a straight face when they look at these two. 🤣🤣🤣
