@justRealGold The math isn’t mathing here. $582K over 10 years is $58.2K a year + interest. So they were living on somewhere between $7K and $56K a year max? Unless they were much closer to $114K than $65K most years and the vast majority of the debt was low interest mortgage, not possible.
@MonthlyTiger@maternalgroyp Her 5 year old was called the N word. At school. She didn’t say that ALL people hate Black people. But she and her child have apparently run into someone who felt the need to demean them because they are Black. That’s their truth, not a delusion.
@benrhiatt@PanasonicDX4500 Sure, those Southern states were just about to ban slavery when that pesky North interfered in its affairs! That’s why they seceded from the Union and fought a war to try and preserve it.
@Elliesmommyy23 My wedding was the one day in my life where all our most important people were with us in one place. Some of them hadn’t met before and haven’t since. Some have since died and that was the last time we saw them. It was worth every penny.
@tnsampson2@dilanesper Given the sex abuse scandals in both Catholic and Baptist leadership, it seems like that may be one of the most Christian things you can do!
@ZeeshanAleem@TheLincoln Are people not familiar with the granny cart as a concept? My grandmother lived on the south side of Chicago about 3 blocks away from a grocery store and everybody had one for big trips — not just my granny!
@mkobach@larealestateguy 2 and 4 years old — early for drop offs. 2nd and 4th grade — yeah, drop off parties should be the norm unless the parents want to stay and socialize.
@mkobach@larealestateguy How old are your kids? In K-1 most parents stayed but from 2+ in my town drop offs start. I actually didn’t mind because it allowed for class parties, which are too big for parents to manage alone, and it was a great way to meet and socialize with other parents.
@SlumRNA_Dog I have wonderful, well behaved, planned kids that I manage to parent with joy and without spanking! So not sure who you’re referring to but it sure isn’t me.
@SlumRNA_Dog I mean, no, they don’t come with a return policy. But if you are too fucking stupid to manage your fertility in the year of our Lord 2026, I’m afraid that I can’t help you.
@culture_think@TookysMag I’m aware! I have children! Not once have I had to spank them for sticking their hands down the garbage disposal. I supervise them and in the rare instance that they do manage to bypass the safeguards I set for them, that’s my failure, not theirs, and I don’t spank them for it.
@culture_think@TookysMag Why does you child have unfettered access to sockets, garbage disposals, knives, or plastic bags? That’s not unruly children, that’s shit parenting!
@DugganTheOne@Primal_Birth If your 11 year old is doing things that are that serious spanking will not solve the problem. A more comprehensive intervention is needed to get to the root cause of that behavior. And shit parenting, including spanking, likely significantly contributed to the kid getting there.
