@Nasafitra I think it isn’t focus mode that makes positioning less important, but rather the amount of defensive utility that we’ve been given outmatching what the monsters are capable of. It’s fun af but it feels like for a lot of weapons it’s always your turn
@MHFZZEnjoyer It was a similar feeling for me in rise where wirefall was a get out of jail free card but in master rank they killed you for wirefalling badly
@MHFZZEnjoyer I imagine this will be less of a concern for ease when monsters can deal better with Seikret getting you out of combos that will 100-0 you
Introducing Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the massive expansion to #MHWilds. Soar into a land above, wield new abilities, and hunt legendary monsters in Master Rank!
Prepare for Elder Dragons. The next era of Monster Hunter begins in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
@MHFZZEnjoyer I’m totally cool with spiribirds not returning but 4 minutes is pretty exaggerated to be completely fair. If I wanted to get them I had a route that took like less than 1.5 to fill completely+grab wirebug/other endemic life
@MH_Herny I can get on board with this. Wounds give some more nuance to what parts of the monster you want to target and when. Focus targeting is not really necessary for that system to exist. I do think FT requires the game to be faster and takes away a small bit of the need to position
@Ramika30898@Legato_MH Like giving you an incentive to hit a part of the monster that you normally wouldn’t is interesting to me. There’s very few reasons/opportunities for a lot of weapons to target a monster’s hard part or back or whatever normally but an affliction bubble there gives you a reason to
@Ramika30898@Legato_MH Is it maybe because the portable games have more defensive utility options that let you stay engaged with the monster more often? Also the thing I personally like about things like wilds wounds or sunbreak affliction bubbles is that it requires you to adjust your positioning more
@Dynamo_Lynn To me it’s great that people can get so much enjoyment out of the ecology. It’s a series that means a lot of different things to people. I do tend to agree though that it is a game first and foremost but I think all the other stuff matters so it’s not “just a fighting game”
@nanase_es I’m not sure if this translates well, but I’ve found that staying in archdemon mode (white) really opens up a lot of options for stamina management and finding small openings with Demon Flurry 1 > Blade Dance 2 to get into Demon mode (red). It’s so fun and different from before
@Yuusha_Ou@UNKNOWN_BFW@potatowagonvr But if that’s all, saying “fight AT ark without focus mode” is weird to me. like you’re losing/gaining wayyy more time making decisions to keep uptime than using or not using focus mode (depending on skill level)
@Yuusha_Ou@UNKNOWN_BFW@potatowagonvr The magnetism is a niche thing that is helpful if you have to disengage and miss your uptime opportunities yeah. Weak spot hit rate is just a matter of skill regardless. I feel like the hitbox manipulation is related to weak spot hit rate too, so isn’t really a separate point imo
@SilencedVouivre@UNKNOWN_BFW@potatowagonvr But you can hit those weak spots with better positioning without focus mode tbh. That’s just the same skill you used in previous games. Focus mode isn’t necessary to do it and is helpful if you’re putting yourself in positions where it is helpful imo at least
