and the G. is for…

Finally, Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody”, I knew this song but hadn’t added it to my library yet.
“Lady” by The Whispers is another classic 70s song. I fear I went through a whole deep dive on an Instagram sample page and pulled the ones I liked again…

NMR September 2026 3/4:
“Since I’ve been loving you” -Led 3
“In the mood” classic 70s R&B straight to the point😂 but good song nonetheless. The Manhattans were a Instagram sample video find. Soo good love the group’s melody and vocals. Remind me of TP with the Blue Notes.

NMR Sept ‘26 4/4:
Continuing from above Camron was fire. Found some early 2000’s songs “oh boy” and “the roc”.
Here’s a secret: my sister Kai and I used to play rock band and she loved singing the Maps song by the YeahYeahYeahs. I Re-Found it and have been playing it nonstop

Could listen to the first 5 seconds of “There’s something on your mind” on repeat. Finally, some 70s soul on “confessin’ a feeling”

New Music Rotation August ‘26 3/3:
While road tripping, my dad and my uncle showed me some Steely Dan including “FM” and “do it again”. A pair of love songs by Luke Combs and Sly &TFS. “Cheese and Dope” is the latest track from that legendary Project Pat album to join my library.

New Music Rotation August ‘26 2/3:
“You’re Everything” by Bun B is an awesome southern rap anthem. Curren$y and The Alchemist with an insane partnership “Covert Coup” that provided great songs like The Type, Scottie Pippens, Double 07, Full Metal. My most listened this month.

New Music Rotation August ‘26 1/3:
“Yellow Moon” is so good, as is “Down in Mexico” (from a classic Tarantino film). “All Your’n” was a great add to my love song playlist. Finally, “ANGELZ” feat. Ghostface by MF DOOM was a great find.

Crowbar has some of the heaviest rock riffs I’ve heard. Their song “Embracing Emptiness” especially.
Adanna Duru’s album was GREAT, I loved “one on one” and “ENERGY!”.
Finally, an old classic from 10cc “Dreadlock Holiday”

New Music Rotation July ‘26 1/2:
Not much new music this month but I rediscovered “S on my chest” from DJ Khaled’s “We The Best”.
IDK is one of the most underrated rap artists and I really enjoyed his “e.t.d.s.” mixtape.

New Music Rotation June ‘26 1/2:
“The Package” - A Perfect Circle. Why didn’t anyone tell me about APC before this?? “Is it because I’m black” a powerful record about fighting the racial injustice keeping him trapped in the same place.

Moreover, you have Janice STFU, 2H4TR, Plot Twist, National Treasures, Shabang, Make Them Pay. 8/10

“Black” by Pearl Jam. Gave me a broken heart where I had none. Rick James’ “Street Songs” (Fire and Desire) as well as Smokey Robinson (More Love, The Soulful Shack, Ooo Baby Baby) were all in heavy rotation.

Burning Spear (Marcus Garvey), Culture (Ethiopians Waan Guh Home) and Toots (Pressure Drop) all brought me some great new reggae music this month. Good punk rock song “Thank you I guess” was a gem of a find.
