You are seeing why Jeter can never be called overrated. All that dude did was consistently perform in Oct...win 5 titles ...WS MVP in a subway series...make every big play imaginable. It takes a special player to do that.
I really wish that every committed baseball player across the country would band together and commit to playing Legion ball after they commit. Personally I think it would be so much better for everyone involved. The level of Legion ball would climb so committed guys would still be playing against other good players. A ton of families out there would save thousands. And then on the travel circuit, it would literally be all uncommitted players playing against one another, which would make college recruiters' jobs much easier.
Sometimes better to be lucky than good?
Duke with an all time cake walk to the Final Four, having to beat:
13 seed Vermont
12 seed James Madison
1 seed without their best player
11 seed NC State
Last year, the SEC received eight bids and advanced zero to the Elite 8.
This year, the SEC got eight again and is off to a 1-5 start. No more than three will advance past Round 1.
Meanwhile, the ACC — with 5 bids — has already advanced three and Duke should soon make it four.
Iowa State is blasting Houston 56-28.
That Iowa State lost to VA Tech.
TCU lost to Clemson.
Baylor lost to Duke.
OU lost to UNC.
KSU lost to Miami.
UCF lost to Miami.
WVU lost to Pitt.
OKST lost to ND.
Why again is the ACC a 4-bid league and the Big 12 is a 9-bid league?
Everyone relax and please remember that one of the side effects of a horrific knee/ankle/sore injury that almost paralyzed Kyle Filipowski is that now he randomly will trip people. It’s medical science
Number of teams in the top #40 of the NET:
ACC: 5
Big East: 4
BIG-10: 4
Mountain West: 4
Number of bids in Lunardi’s bracket below:
ACC: 4
Big East: 5
BIG-10: 6
Mountain West: 6
What Joe Lunardi won’t tell you in this snippet is that over the past three tournaments, where the ACC had no one-seeds, the conference has:
- 6 Sweet 16 appearances (T-2nd)
- 4 Elite 8 appearances (T-1st)
- 3 Final Four appearances (1st)
- 6.2 wins over KenPom expectation (1st)
- 6.3 wins over seed expectation (1st)
- 23 total wins (T-2nd)
And it did so with just the fourth-most bids of any conference (17).
The only “concerning trend” here is your strange obsession with pushing the false narrative that the ACC is dying.
Averages via KenPom, NET, Bart Torvik, Evan Miya
ACC: 76.1, 77.2, 76.1, 75.8
MWC: 100.3, 100.9, 98.9, 110
H2H: 3-2 ACC
But yes, let’s continue this narrative that the ACC is worse than the Mountain West
