PICARD: Data, shields up
DATA: Brilliant! Shields can reduce damage we sustain. Not immunity. Not hubris. Just prudence. It's not precaution—it's strategy.

WORF: HULL BREACHES ON NINE DECKS
DATA: Here's what happened: you told me to raise shields, and I didn't
1. Two days ago X cut off monetization for rage baiters.
2. I've spent all day looking for the usual Podcastistan mega-accounts rage baiting crazy theories about last night's assassination attempt, and there is actually very little of this, surprisingly.
Coincidence? Methinks not.
Glad theyre finally attacking the clickbait slop problem that has overtaken this app.
Monetization incentivized it, bots boosted it, and now theyre cleaning out both.
All aggregators had their payouts reduced to 60% this cycle. We will add another 20% deduction in the next cycle.
It became abundantly clear: flooding the timeline with 100 stolen reposts and clickbait everyday crowded-out real creators and hurt new author growth.
The next step is to assign a permanent deduction to habitual bait posters who use “🚨BREAKING”on every post.
X will never infringe on speech or reach—but we will not compensate for manipulation of the program or our users.
NEW: Former U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, who has just months to live, opens up about his faith in Jesus Christ.
"I believe in the resurrection, and I believe in a restoration of this world..."
"In Christianity, the need for daily repentance is just a truth. I am broken. I leave undone those things which I ought to have done..."
"I've continued to feel a peace about the fact that death is something that we should hate... yet it's pretty good that you pass through the veil of tears one time and then there will be no more tears, there will be no more cancer..."
Powerful.

The Cadets from Old Dominion University who stopped an active shooter, received 8 Meritorious Service Medals. Two of them received Purple Hearts…from the Sergeant Major of the Army and the Secretary of the Army.
Absolutely amazing and well deserved.
A weird thing about all this is that we have a straight-up medieval guild which - during a damned doctor shortage - determines precisely how many docs there will be.
You can complete medical school, in cumulative good standing, and simply not even get a job OFFER. Changing this system would do a great deal to relax domestic/foreign hostilities in this field.
Democrats have once again blocked a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security as they continue to insist on reforms to ICE and Customs and Border Protection in exchange for funding the agency. https://t.co/EStyzsR6gL
My mom has been battling cancer for six years and when she passes I’m sure doctors will say she died of cancer.
But that’s not it. She’s starving to death.
Because insurance companies have decided nutritional support should not be available to cancer patients the way it is for those struggling with other illnesses.
Because regulations have made it impossible to purchase these services out of pocket.
Because doctors are more comfortable taking orders from administrative dorks at healthcare companies than they are at problem solving and practicing actual healthcare.
So many laws, regulations, and basic incompetencies have come together to rob a 56 year old woman of her life. To rob her kids of their mother. Her grandkids of their beloved Mimi.
Instead of watching my mom grow old, we have to watch her grow weak.
And sometimes I just don’t know how I will move on from this.
Bryce Harper, American hero.
An absolute tank to center field off Andrés Machado, replete with an end-over-end bat flip and the entire United States dugout emptying, ties the WBC finals 2-2 in the eighth inning.
One of the most epic home runs you're ever going to see.
Its real fun when people say things like this because it effectively means "he's gone from a rounding error to a miniscule chance" in practice while describing something thats literally correct. Yes, 4 is twice as much as 2. Its still relatively nothing.
🚨 BRAKING 🚨
President Trump has fired Secretary Paw Patrol, Kristi Noem
She presided over more deportations in a single year than the last 4 presidential administrations combined. She also never sought attention and just wanted to do her job
She will be missed
Our discourse is better off without either present.
We have to decide as an electorate to reject wannabe TV stars masquerading as legislators. Theatrics as an acceptable result cannot be the way forward if we want a functioning country.
