I know the result stings for a lot of people, but don’t forget to enjoy the ride. More importantly, the door just opened for what is seemingly going to be a golden age for Buffalo sports.
Another 5 years of prime Josh Allen in a beautiful brand new stadium and a refreshed coaching staff.
A young core of elite hockey players under contract and a new GM who seemingly has the green light to spend.
Don’t blink. The next 5 seasons for each might be the most fond memories we have of these teams in our lives.
I will remember the 2025-2026 Buffalo Sabres team for the rest of my life. The OGs were already tapped in, but they reignited a love for the game for a new generation. An absolutely wonderful hockey team that will be recognized as such. Love you all so much.
Lindy on this season:
"When I took the job, I wanted these guys to like being a Buffalo Sabre. I think they like being a Sabre and I think they made our city proud. It wasn’t the result we wanted and to a man, they’re all disappointed. But they gave them everything they had."
Proof of everything the Sabres built this season.
Pause the video and zoom in on any face in the crowd. Can’t find anyone over the age of 30.
This season alone did the legwork of 4-5 normal ‘good’ seasons. A whole new generation is here.
What a year from the Buffalo Sabres. I don’t know shit about anything but I figure they have learned a ton from this run. Being down and out entirely in the regular season all the way to game 7 of round 2 in the 5 months long NHL playoffs. What a squad can’t wait for them to be back
