@JONNY_RUBBER@SE25EZE@edrinehabasa Do you know that in other games, for example rugby, they can only give the penalty try if it is clear the foul robbed them of probably try? They have to make an assessment that, without being fouled, you would have scored, before they just give you the try.
@JimmyGazman@edrinehabasa Iโm only taking about those situations where the attacker has already had a bad touch and lost the ball or kicked it away over the back line before heโs fouled, then he gets fouled and gets handed an almost certain goal. I do see this quite a lot. Itโs a big prize
@bren_geo@AndyShrimpton4@MonacoRebooted@edrinehabasa Ok. I understand. The only thing I in fact said was that it looked to me like his back foot was still on the line. Itโs not all that an unreasonable comment, and it was on
@SE25EZE@edrinehabasa Yeah. Agree, but I also see a real lot where the guy has already had a bad touch and lost the ball, sometimes even kicked it out over the back and they give the pen. You know, whether he gets fouled or not, thereโs no chance of a goal.
@SE25EZE@edrinehabasa I get it. I assumed that he had kept his back foot on the line but most disagree with that. The penalty rule is quite harsh but I guess itโs there to try to have more goals. My guess would be that well over 50% of penalties are given when a goal was no chance of being scored
@Lyndonx@mrpete9 This is happening in other places too. France and Australia are going through huge tax grabs. Something serious needs to be done. We canโt keep being robbed like this.
@mrpete9@sotheysay3@AndyShrimpton4@edrinehabasa I watched the game and didnโt hear them say that. They seemed to be saying it was the goalie moving. I read later it was the player going early. Is Kaneโs little pause legal?
@AndyShrimpton4@sotheysay3@edrinehabasa Of course I accept it. I donโt really care. It was fine. They won by more than one goal. I was at that semi final in Russia in 2018.
@JimmyGazman@edrinehabasa Does the penalty rule worry you? I understand the utility of it in trying to ensure more goals are scored but letโs face it, the vast majority of penalties are given when no goal is gonna be scored. Itโs a very big punishment often for an infringement that made no difference
@scruztiger@Tw_timerAlder Yep. In my experience, true believers of this bullshit cannot even understand the way I think about it. If they could, we could have a discussion about why Iโm wrong, but if you donโt have the ability to understand or follow the logic, no sensible discussion is possible
@TheDancingYak@edrinehabasa Yep. I was assuming there was a good chance his back foot was still on the line becasue thatโs what it looks like in the photo and the commentators (who were English) also said it looked ok to them.
@sotheysay3@AndyShrimpton4@edrinehabasa Thereโs a good saying: โThe problem with the world is that the most intelligent are full of doubt but the most stupid are always so cock sure of themselvesโ. I just said โI dunno are you sureโ. What did you think I meant by those words? Something that I didnโt say, I guess
